Ok I've played the Demo about a dozen times getting used to the feel, what features it has etc. I know its a demo and an older version of the game but here is a few more feelings I have about it.
The combat all the flipping and stuff.. may be a little over the top. Bring it down a notch or two and the speed a bit so the actions can be enjoyed more would help. And the mage glad to see the pocking stick shooting is gone but the swinging staff SO much is a little bit much. I like it but would like to see it a little bit less... do not need it at every shot.
The camera needs some work needs to cover the field better.
The armor/robes are much better in DA2.
Glad to see the man hands gone.
I'm still not sure I'm going to like the warrior as much as I did in DAO.. will have to give it a try in the big game.
The super sized sword needs to be shrunk some... sorry but when its bigger than the you its to over the top.. that is when it is a staff
The look... I'm not real sure about because its a demo but I like the texture of the skin better than 1 and the teeth:)... the hair though??? I know its hard to do but just keep working on it for I hope DA3.
Storyline I think I'm going to like it. I'm glad to see you focus on the world not just one person because this world seems to be able to offer many stories in the future.
I hope Bioware takes all of the comments and keeps improving on the DA games for many years to come.
Oh and the Elf ears can be a touch smaller too... Every time I see them I think ouch when putting on a helmet .

This is not DA:O,.

It was never intended to be DAO2...But DA2. What part of that is so difficult to comprehend?
I know...the thick headedness about that concept is astounding.
It's called "tunnel vision" lol.

Ive got to say that i am very disapointed in the demo so far (PC), i actually loved Origins and played through the game around to 15 times on the xbox and pc, and I didn't really have any problems with it.
But on to the Demo!
My initial thoughts were that the graphics seemed to be better than origins but that might have been the excitment taking effect, the male hawke voice really annoyes me, sounds like he should be in a library somewhere reading instead of killing darkspawn
But by far my biggest gripe is the combat.....i preordered this game because it was called DRAGON AGE, not Street Fighter, if my target is out of range i don't expect to cartwheel and twirl my way over to them only to perform some over the top stupid kick that makes my target explode into numerous peices, or jump 60 feet into the air to double stap my enemy, this to me is not dragon age
And the conversion to Dragon Effect was a fear or mine from day one that has completley come true.
No armour on your companions? they only have a few set outfits....does this ring a bell??
and people laugh when we call it dragon effect

Like it or not the formula works as you can clearly see.
Yes, it worked quite well........FOR MASS EFFECT!!
The point is...its popular...it works...theres no reason it cant work for Dragon Age.
Changing genre or direction of a popular game franchise will make the fans rage with the fury of a thousand suns. It barely matters how good the "sequel" is, if drastic changes are made to a perfectly working concept, you make the same mistake they did with Deus Ex 2.
The reason it worked with Mass Effect was that it was really a pretty average game to start with, in all areas except plot (and in some areas, it was downright broken, yes I'm talking to you annoying Mako-driving), so the changes made to the concept became widely regarded as improvements.
The difference with Dragon Age is that to a lot of people, it was the pefect game. It was the long awaited return to a format that had been lost for almost a decade. So when changes are made to the format of Dragon Age, they are perceived as selling out the fans for lofty money grubbing schemes to capture the audience of Call of Duty, rather than improvements to actual problems with the game.
If drastic changes are going to be made to a game, it's almost always better to start over with a new franchise. If Dragon Age 2 had been called "Vyvern Era 1", this discussion would be non-existent.
i enjoy Call of Duty and enjoyed Dragon Age Origins *universe explodes*
also Dragon Age was not a perfect game, the story and environments were quite cookie-cutter boring, which is what i'm more focused on with DA2 than whether they made the combat animations faster
Surprise surprise...

Dragon effect is hilarious, and sadly, accurate. I'll be calling the game DE now.

Exactly...as far as I'm concerned Dragon Effect represents the best of both worlds.

Well i'll admit it is a kinda cool name haha
but to me it is, i liked both games but for different reasons, i just wished they could have kept the two games seperate, i'm still going to get the game, and will still love it to death, but probably not as much as origins, but we'll have to wait till the 8th to find out for sure!

Very unlikely. Origins was riduclously huge in both depth and scale, so it's unlikely to be topped.Cancermeat wrote...
