The worst part is that the vast majority of those complaining about DA:2 are going to buy it anyway...
It isn't that cut and dry.
I play on the 360..
I didn't like the demo for a few reasons.
-The animations, especially rogue, are over the top and unnecessary. Some of the cut scenes just didn't keep my attention.
-The lack of conversations options makes the dialogue boring to me. It's not so much the good or evil thing as it is having a lot of options to carry out a conversation with. I like to play a good RPG a few times through and I don't see the benefit of playing DA2 more than once...
-I like DA:O because I could play ALL characters during a fight. In the DA2 demo I felt I couldn't really switch between characters that much because I had to focus on constantly attacking. I think they give you more enemies that are weaker and I preferred the DA:O way. I may have to use the tactics a lot more with this game and that is a turn off to me.
Overall the demo felt odd to me and I just didn't care for it much. I am currently playing through DA:O for my third time and it just feels better to me.
Now to your comment, I had Dragon Age 2 pre-ordered and after my second play through of the demo I canceled the pre-order. Yes I may play DA2 at some point but I will buy it used and at a big discount. I have only bought one other game used in my lifetime and at least 200 new. I generally prefer to buy new and directly support the developers. From what I have seen so far I just can't see myself supporting what Bioware/EA has done with Dragon Age!
