PC Version is AMAZING.

Combat: very entertaining, cool animations!

Graphic style and colours: I LOVE them, perfect... just perfect!

Dialogues: Non so deep, but I know this was just a Demo obviously...

Soundtrack: Origins reprises? OK I APPROVE, I like feeling like continuing the Origins epic.

MY VOTE IS 9/10

BioWare didn't failed me even this time. Good Work!

I'd like to point out some "issues" i observed during the demo.

1) Is it itching somewhere?:
Do the characters have something up their asses? I mean look at them running, it's a fraking moonvalk except they move forwards. Some animation speed tweaking is required.

2) Too damn fast:
Well, as a 2H warrior i have finally the time to land some special attacks before the target collapses but i tried to play a rogue and sweet mother of jesus, i couldn't grasp a **** of what was going on, just the time to smash the buttons randomly and see various body parts flying around.

3) Those little bastards are ignoring my orders:
Ended up alone during the second ogre encounter, just because the big Berta blonde tank refused to drink her potion, oh and the healing spell might need his cooldown reduced a bit.

This

SO TRUE for the Rogue
Just BUTTON mash the **** out of everything and it will die sooner or later.

I didn't even read the descriptions of the skills, just press and look what happens

Played with absolute max settings on 1920x1080 - world graphics look great, the interface is horrible. It utterly disgusted me - its has some minimalistic artsy touch which absolutely doesn't work for the game IMHO.

Re-played the demo (first with Rogue, then with Warrior) to see if I can get used to it and do not think I can. Will probably cancel my SE preorder. While the fight animations are nice, I want a real RPG, not Darksiders in the DA:O setting.

So disappointed. :( Hope you won't let me equally down with ME3.

Dude, holding down the right mouse button to rotate the camera is the best thing since sliced bread. But I guess you haven't played MMOs like Guild Wars... As I said... moving the camera like that should be a STANDARD for every RPG!

Aaaand the good news, this is NOT an MMO, "breaths a sigh of relief"

I wanted Dragon Age II, not final fantasy with devil may cry combat. Those over the top moves and swinging a million times with huge sword to down an enemy - great...

Also whole game just became a cartoon, characters look weird, especially women that resemble chun li ~^

If this was a new game, this would be justified but hell - it's dragon age II we could get at least somewhat similar gameplay//content.

Now where are the RPG elements? Doesn't matter what option I choose it just moves the paragon//renegade indicator. I mean those were the things that kept me playing Origins so many times - the choices you can make and the outcome - not everything served to you on a silver platter.

Won't mention interface and graphics since plenty of people already did it.

Yo killin me sons!

I liked the demo, but if the full version is like this I will like it less then DAO.

Combat felt a little difficult too follow / organise.
But what realy let me down was the new artstyle. It looked a little too unrealistic and too cartoonish for my taste.

The idea of a rogue disapearing and springing up underneath an enemy leaving a bloody mess around as thoug the torso was made of a balloon full of blood.. well. Perhaps when I look at the demo again tomorrow and try a different class (did rogue just now), my opinion will be better. If not, I might not feel like buying this and take an other run with DAO.

some of the new feature feel more like them trying to make it more console friendly, plus they said the game would be shorter than DA:O, they arent releasing mod tools right away (or update, or whatever you want to call it).

Before I played the demo, I definitely planned to buy the game this month, now I'm not going to.

I think I feel like the game was dumbed down and simplified, its hard to tell without being able to play more. :/

With the lack of mod tools, shorter story, and overly simplified feel (not sure if thats good or bad yet, but it dosnt feel like DA:O or like a Baldurs Gate "spiritual" successor, as DA:O was), this game is NOT worth 60 bucks on PC.... Waiting till mod tools are released or till its 40 bucks, if I even buy it then. Thank you for destroying my faith in you Bioware......

This is exactly what I was about to post... it played exactly the same as Origins, with two differnces: 1. I found myself syncing party  commands to work together way more than I had done in Origins, and 2. it looks way cooler.

Party-based tactics are in, peeps. On that front, it's infinitely better than Origins.

One mroe thing. The symbols actually confused me mroe than just reading the actual lines would have. Maybe bcause theres multiple types for more or less the same kind of reaction.

Also, the ogre wasnt THAT bad as a mage. Granted, I lost Carver due to pot situation and Heal on CD, but it wasnt bad. Beat it first try on my Fem Mage :)

I loved 99.9% of everything about DA:O, with the exception that every time I had to watch my character shuffle slowly towards an enemy in combat I wanted to hang myself. I loved playing Rogues and now you have fixed the slowness I am in love all over again. TY Bioware!!

10/10 from me.

On PC:

-Weird loading times, especially when going to a cutscene from combat. Will hopefully be fixed in the more optimized release version.

-Combat's mostly an upgrade. One of the issues with DAO was that you ran out of stamina very quickly and had a hard time using abilities throughout the fight. Non-mage characters feel more active throughout a fight now.

-I actually quite like the new attribute spread. At first it seemed weird for me that Cunning was needed for tanks (and that Dex was mage crit), but now I realize that it makes allocating stats a little trickier then just dumping them into Spellpower/(Dex/Strength/Whatever).

-I also quite like the new skill system. DA's (except for mages) was pretty linear, this allows for a lot more interesting choice and flexibility while leveling.

-I'm really unhappy that the isometric view is gone. There were a few fights where it was hard to manage enemies just because the available camera angles made it hard to select them.

Not overly impressed with the game , i know they said they wanted to take it a different direction and my personal feeling is they took it the wrong direction.  Yes I am one of those who have played every dnd computer game since the gold boxes to neverwinter nights.

Pro's it looked alright graphically....
combat flowed well I guess.

Con's

The characters didnt seem to have depth to them , at least I didnt feel I had enough time to get to know them.  I prefered being able to make my own character.  You develop greater attachment to them and can relate to them more.

I miss the more tactical view of game play ,  I dont have to be right into combat.

No auto attack ?  having to hit the button over and over again wasnt fun waiting for CD's

the characters lines were pretty bad.....

I felt the game was rushed it didnt seem to have the polish that DA1  had .

The game doesnt feel like a role playing game any more and that is disappointing
Feels like a dumbed down button mashing game for those who do not like the older styles of RPGs with greater depth and story.  It feels that they are trying to pander to a new audience and let go of their past of previous RPGs that were very solid and enjoyable.

For those who need to criticize me on my opinions , this is a feedback thread on our opinions on the game.  If you do not like our opinions well tough.

Same here!  And I gotta say, it's pretty darn satisfying to throw a bomb at a cluster of enemies, and then have Bethany blow them up with a fireball seconds later.

Ca-ca-ca-cooombo!

He actually has some dialogue lines, thing is he has no sound. If you put the subttitles on (i do it because i am not a native speaker and i need them) you can see the text of what he is saying, even he is moving his mouth as if talking, the only thing is that there is no voice.

Yep, there's more synergy with the different classes. Instead of insta-kill CoC + stonefist with your mage alone, if you want to pull something impressive off, you actually have to work together...

It's TOO fast. I challenge you to pick up something the size of a ladder and try to swing it as fast as the characters do.

speaking of cool down, 60's cooldown for mage heal.... WTF? Will there be talents to SIGNIFIGANTLY reduce that?

Well. I'm not overly impressed. I'll wait for it to go on sale. Camera controls are clunky, what happened to the DA options(like swivel at the edges of the screen). Leveling up feels like mass effect, actually so does the combat. Which means it's moved towards a jrpg style. AI isn't 'smart' about where and what's been targeted.

Also, there's problems with the way the demo is currently handling x64 systems like win7. There's invalid assertion hooks, causing crashes. Maybe mods will fix these issues. I can hope, I really can.

It looks pretty but doesn't feel like a successor to dragon age. Rather it feels like mass effect, with magic.

Overall I this demo was very well done!, I was very excited about the graphics despite only playing on the xbox 360 (I pre-ordered for the ps3). The mage was the most difficult of the classes however when I gave hawke the first rank in healing we didn't have much trouble. However what I must say about the melee classes Warrior was awesome decent dps but in the exaggerated cut scene really whoops some serious ass. The Rogue which is my favorite next to the sexy mage was a great class very quick and very nimble but the cool downs worked just right. Now I just want to play on the ps3 and I will be a happy man

From what I saw today DA2 is basically what we all expected: different. I found myself in a bit of a culture shock at first – new graphics, new animations, new interface. It all felt slightly manga-ish and sci-fi at the same time but this is not to say that it was bad, just different.

However, the characters, dialogue and music felt so soothingly familiar I felt like I was still in the same world of Dragon Age 1. I’m personally not a fan of the Hawke voice and the dialogue-wheel, I feel there was no need to change the dialogue system of the first Dragon Age. As far as cinematography was concerned – great job! What got me hooked on the original Dragon Age (except Alistair of course) was the fact that it was so epic and cinematic – reminded me of Lord of the Rings or something, and the second Dragon Age has taken that even further. I enjoy the close ups and character drama a lot more if they are nicely presented.

I respect the desire of the designers to come up with a unique look for the Dragon Age games, and I can see what people mean by calling the style of the first one “generic”, I, personally, have all the trust when it comes to improving the art and look of the game but I have to say none of the good sides of the new design showed in the demo. We don’t really get to look at much else except some gray wasteland and the female Hawke waving her bum in a cat-walk manner and the most exciting thing by far was Flemeth in humanoid form.

To sum up: My feelings towards the new fighting system are mixed but I’m sure it just gets some getting used to. Having the companions respond to commands instantly was refreshing. The new sci-fi look of the interface drives me crazy – there was no need – I liked parchment and dusty journal looks just fine. The voice over makes the character feel like someone else rather than the player which is a bad thing in this case. I enjoyed the new graphics and had no issues with loading times or lags or whatsoever.

And a quick note, if you use Windows 7 and happen to experience the “d3dx9_43.dll missing” problem (the last two numbers of the .dll may vary) a quick and wonderfully easy way to fix it is just get this off the Microsoft site: http://www.microsoft...&displaylang=en

It basically provides your windows with Directx 9 and all its updates without touching your Directx 11 so you can run the game fine.

I suggest turning everything else off and just walk away from the comp for awhile so your comp doesn't strain so much.

I didn't touch it that whole time.
