I played it on the PC:
-The graphics are nice but I it could be a little bit better, I know you guys did not have all the time you maybe needed to improve it more.
-The new skill system is so far AWESOME! That was really a greate idea.
-The new Conversation system is ok I love both of them, the DA:O and the Mass Effect system.
-So the combat ist really more fluid and dinamic, thats greate but the injurys and the way all the body parts are flying around is a little too much. It would be awesome if you guy would do a mix of DA:O and DA 2 combat. somthing like the speed and dynamic combat DA 2 and the finishing moves of DA:O. And not so much body parts please. Maybe an idea for DA 3
Anyway you guys are the best I will buy all of your games anyway just wanted you to know my opinion.
CAN'T WAIT TO PLAY THE FULL GAME...
And please excuse my poor english its not my native language.
BIOWARE RULEZ!

Some of the graphics issues I noticed:
hair to clothing clipping on Flemeth in some cutscenes
clothing clipping on Isabella and Marian Hawke's Kirkwall clothing in the cutscenes (on isabella's shirt where it covers her posterior iirc and near marian's shoulders there are some jagged polys)
a piece of Isabella's chest missing (polygons) - from a bit under her colarbone downwards between her breasts, you can see straight through the character
Camera/Combat related.. with the starting camera angle (close to over-the-shoulder view) AoE spells are hard to cast and the character ends up taking a move-to command. I wouldn't mind the spell being cast in a different place because the standard camera settings or my own settings tilted it unreasonably low for me to cast with precision ...and I'd rather the spell not be cast at all than to see the command of casting a firestorm or placing a glyph reinterpreted as a move-to command.
Art-wise... Aveline's hair is like a flaming orange sun in an otherwise
colourless world. Perhaps toning it down a bit, desaturating it a bit
would work... dunno.
Conversation-related... I am all for the mass-effect type conversation wheel. But what on earth could purple symbols stand for that could reinterpret my trying to be sympathetic and yet cheering as 'at least your baby daughter's gonna be dead just like daddy now'
I might write some class related feedback when I've had the chance to try more than just the mage class.

After playing through the first fight, I couldn't get into the overall storyline. Combat was way too distracting. Sometimes unaffective.semtex86 wrote...
2. Monotone mood: The enviroment in Lothering dont feel menacing, depressing or fearful, just laziness from the developer's part. There is no passion. Even in Kirkwall (when meeting Isabella) felt emotionless.

You know I see comments like this and I think people have let their brains fall out of their heads. Demos rarely are "complex" and you want "story progression" in what is essentially a gameplay sneak peak?
I mean if they demoed up DAO and gave you Ostagar and part of the wilds wouldn't that seem all linear and not much choice?
Can't say I didn't expect to see this reply coming. My opinion is that if the demo isn't representive of the game, it's a bad demo. If the DA2 demo is representive of the game, it's a bad game.
And no, I didn't expect much story progression. I did expect a tiny bit input into how the story progressed but that's a whole other thing.

Just as in real life, people come in all shapes and sizes, you don't just turn people aside for their form, or maybe some of you do : /
Given the sort of combat in DA2 and what that entails, basically, people's problem with Isabela's attributes boils down to...
Well, how often do you see gymnists with E cup breasts?
It's pandering, plain and simple, and it's a little insulting. And shocking.
And, of course, Isabela did wear armor in Origins.

The combat chatter was good in that "another wave is coming" is of practical value and the rest of the time they kept thier mouths shut.
I noticed that the darkspawn bleed red and that the mercenaries bleed black blood. Anyone else noticed this?

Just like how ME2 streamlined the experience DA2 does the same. From the Journal, to the level up screen, I enjoyed a much improved interface.
My only real criticism is that the character cutscenes/interaction phases haven't really evolved since DA:O, or even ME2. The facial expressions and body motions are not fluid enough to do the characters justice.
I'm not sure if im right in saying this but I seemed to notice that at points the game would cut between almost pre-rendered cutscenes and then back into real-time cutscenes. They seemed to flow into each other fine so perhaps more pre-rendered ones could have been used for the scenes that needed that added 'feeling'. The part where Hawke stabs and shuts the templars eyes springs to mind: the motions did not really flow or connect well.
Also I found it hard to believe Hawkes mother cared that much for her son. She seemed upset like you would be for someone you knew, not for someone who was your close family.
However at a glance I find myself largely approving of all the changes made.

LOVED IT!! All the classes are beast! The only problem i ran into was the fact i couldn't put it on dx11 on high cus it was just too choppy. I'm running an AMD 1090 with a GTX 470. Thought that would have murdered the game but evidently not. Again great game.
dx11 dose not work.

My only criticism is the text in the menus are extremely small and I had to move uncomfortably close to my 40" HD Tv just to read everything. Hopefully there will be options to change the formatting so that text can be larger or something. Please look into this, especially for people like me that enjoy reading every codex entry. Thanks!!
They won't. For some reason, BioWare apparently expects everyone to own a giant HDTV. Or maybe they're trying to subtly discourage people from reading so that they won't have to bother writing Codex entries anymore.

Wall of text warning! :innocent:
I'll start off with a couple of the things I did not like, or could use a little bit of tweaking:
-A few of the textures had 'gaps' in them, like the mage robe Lady Hawke wears in Isabella's story.
-I would like the camera to zoom out a bit more, cause maybe it was just me, but casting fireballs was kind of a pain in the ass. (I realize it is a demo, and I hope that targeting/camera will be better in the main game, atleast for mages.)
-I may be beating a dead horse with this one, but the death of your sibling felt a little... forced. It reminded me quite a bit of Jenkins in ME. Though I am hoping that eventually in the game, you and your remaining sibling will take some time to reminisce about him/her. Much like the scene of getting drunk with Doctor Chakwas in ME2 were you finally get a little bit of connection to the person killed in the first five minutes.
And now we get to the things I liked (Which was most of it.):
-The new art direction. Holy lord, it is great. I mean, the new hurlocks are kind of... uhm... silly. But everything else? I always felt that DA:O had an utterly amazing storyline, and lore, but the art was kind of... generic. Don't get me wrong, it was pretty. But it didn't really feel like it had it's own voice. All of the armors looked like typical fantasy armor #1001. Also? Flemeth!! Thank you for actually making her look like an extremely powerful mage. I was very disappointed when we found out exactly who she was in Origins, and I thought back and realized she had a standard model and was wearing the standard commoner clothing.
-The combat. So far i've seen quite a few people harping on it for being button mashy, and maybe it's just me but I played it pretty much the same as Origins. Pausing every few seconds to que up some attacks, letting them go off, re-evaluating the battlefield, repeat. And as for the combat trees? I really do not mind them being scaled down, as, by the end of Origins I was relying on about five skills, no matter which class I was playing. (Did we really need a skill that just made you do more damage to constructs?)
-The voice acting! Lady Hawke sounded absolutely fantastic, aside from a couple of the times that made absolutely no sense. (Atleast father will have some company now? Really?). And I even enjoyed Man Hawke's voice acting, which is a welcome addition after the terrible, terrible male voice for Shepard in ME. As for Isabella? I am extremely satisfied with her new VA, as I thought that she was far too interesting a character to be relagated to being some bit character that you can have a four way with. I am glad to see she has been expanded upon and given a unique VA.

you should be fine if you turn the difficulty setting down to 'easy' when you get the game. Hang in there, hopefully you'll be able to have fun with it.
Thanks. That sort of depresses me though. (LOL) I played DA:O in either "normal" or "hard". Still never got that achievement in Golems for the Harvester on hard though.
Try a rogue archer with very high dexterity and have the accuracy ability on, piece of cake beating the harvester then.

I just chalked up Isabela's over sized fun bags as an side effect of who's telling the story..

No auto-attack. This annoyed me to no end. Everytime I looked over to my skills to choose what to use, I'm just standing there getting beat on. I don't understand why I'm not attacking. Not very "spartan" like to just stand there in the middle of battle looking up at the sky and thinking how nice that cloud looks.
Having to hit A over and over and over to attack is tedious and makes me feel like I'm playing a hack and slash game opposed to an RPG.
Small things, that if aren't changed, I won't cry about and will get used too, I'm sure. Everything else seemed nice and solid. You can totally feel the Mass Effect influence everywhere though. I love Mass Effect don't get me wrong...just would have liked to see more distinction in game mechanics between the two.
Overall, good job Bioware, for the time being I'm very much less worried that this game is EA saying "Bioware, quick let's milk Dragon Age with a sequel super fast!" And more a "Yeah, this is gonna be better then the first and fans are gonna love it!"

Did you have moments where your character:Mike2640 wrote...
For starters, I suppose, the combat animations are completely ridiculous. Seeing the characters doing all this lightning-fast stuff just looks stupid, especially when a warrior gets close to an enemy by somehow rocketing towards it, fast enough for a trail of smoke/dust to be left in his wake. He's either got rocket boots or he's part road-runner, either way it looks derpy as hell.
It's just that it's all unnecessary flourish, like they're showing off or something. They do all this twirly, flippy ****, when it's just not needed. It's like walking across a room by doing back flips. Why bother doing that, when you can just walk. You just look like silly. And that's how everyone looks in the game and it completely takes me out of the fight. The fact that most enemies explode into giblets for no particular reason only makes it worse.
(1) went so fast that you could not enjoy the conflict, nor could you see any moment where the blade made contact with the enemy?
(2) got lost within the mob of Darkspawn while fighting, and you could not tell where your character was?
Combat looked too messy. I couldn't enjoy the battles, for they were moving way too fast. It was similar to rolling up a candy wraper and tossing it across the screen. I heard a lot of metal clashing, but it was going so fast that I had to look away. I stopped playing because it was overwhelming.
Yeah, it was like the sword hand seemed to move, there was a flash of light, and then an enemy health bar was lower. It could have been the framerate, but it seemed to fit with how the rogue moves (The "there one moment, FLASH, gone the next" thing).
It reminded me of a fight scene in Dragon Ball Z or something, with everyone moving impossibly fast and doing rediculous looking movements and attacks. It all just felt like overkill, like Bioware was trying way too hard to make the combat look cool.
