Before anyone bad mouths my machine being a pentium 4 gateway here are the specs I'm using:
Intel Core i7 920 OCed to 3.8ghz H20 Cooled.
6 gigs of ram OCed to 1600mhz 3x2gb sticks.
Quad SLi 295 GTX's (I get that this can't handle tesselation technology, but it has the architecture to handle every other feature of DX11)
The gameplay is matched my expectations, and the presentation is awesome, but I was hoping for some sharper textures, but if that will never get fixed, I'm sure the community will create high-def ones.

I really liked Bethany - enjoyed playing as her more than Marian Hawke. I may be using her a lot on the full game.

Nothing good about this demo. Honestly, I can't believe I pre-ordered this garbage. The art style is cartoony and the animations are repetitive and too over the top (I felt like I was watching bad anime). Oh and all the women have HUGE breasts.... not all women have DD cup size.
Seriously stop catering to the casual xbox player.
them releasing the demo is like slaping you in the face.. and then taking your lunch money.. and laughing about it.
i feel sorry for any of the pc gamers who pre ordered this mess

It's like saying an entire restaurant is horrible because you didn't like their soup of the day.
And for God's sake people, your word is not law, and you are not superior to everybody else due to your opinion. People aren't stupid for enjoying it, and you're not a genius for hating it.The only point you make with statements like that is that you're a pompous fool.

Played as a warrior -> Strong! Used 2 health pots during ogre fight
Played as a rogue -> OMFG! Pwned the ogre without loosing 10% hp, the best crowd control + aoe damage ever with a bow!.

Because that's what it looks like.

Pro storytelling tip : CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT.
Try it before killing off a character , maybe then people will give two ****s.

I'm not sure if it's even that, or I'm just lucky. But thank you so much for making this game playable on my piece of **** computer. In Dragon Age Origins, certain points (such as the final battle, with all the hurlocks and all) became so unplayable I had to turn the reso down to an all time low.
I know this is a demo and all, but hot damn. This game is so much more smooth. I was worried that the combat would be sluggish on my computer but it was silky smooth. I am so impressed. Even if it's not engine optimization and just luck on my part, thank you Bioware.

Im an xbox user myself and even I have to agree to this. Its like its a bit too.. Over the top. I mean theres cool, as in epic finnishers and stuff but this is just pathetic when you do a ninja backflip everytime you move. No-one in reality would go to so much effort to make a single move.

You mentioned leaping at them in an interview, but instead I ended up losing a few valuable seconds trying to find out how close I needed to move for things to work out right.
Other than that, this was freaking awesome, and I'm so glad I ordered the SE.

Lol... I am a ninja rouge living in a medieval dark fantasy. I will cut you down with my ninja sticks, and then somehow teleport to the other side of the enemy. Wait!!! I know this game. Its called "Mortal Kombat", but with an rpg element build into the game. Lord Reiden! Where are you?xi ShadowWolf x wrote...

Come on... I already have no control over who hawke is (i can only choose the mood of the dialog... great...), at least don't make me ever play with the default look and name... seriously, why does chara creation come after that, and not before?

DEAR BIOWARE,
CAN WE GET A PATCH TO INCREASE THE FONT SIZE SO THAT THE TEXT IS ACTUALLY READABLE. IF NOT, COULD YOU AT LEAST EXPLAIN WHY THIS DECISION WAS MADE?
Thanks in advance, I am sure you will provide a good answer.

The camera can't zoom out anywhere near as far as I would like. I prefer to keep track of as much of any given battle as possible in Origins, but I simply can't see enough of the battlefield to do so here. I also wish I could detatch the camera from my character so it's not zooming around wildly. The lower difficulty (on normal, anyway) means the camera isn't a horrible problem when controlling a warrior, but the lack of bird's-eye view is terrible for placing AoE spells unless you're right next to the target. The targeting reticle doesn't seem to snap to enemies anymore, but that's still one step forward for two steps backwards. The excuse that the closer camera lets level designers create pretty ceilings rings quite hollow. Is there a pretty ceiling in the chantry? It don't know, because it never once occurred to me to look up, away from the battle, until I started writing this.
The combat seemed fast paced and responsive, and is refreshing after playing Origins. However, I don't understand why knockback cancels autoattacks (and not just when you get knocked back either--I had to re-issue my attack order every time I used mighty blow). The problem is easy enough to work around by hammering the R button repeatedly, but it still seems a bit silly. Also, I hope that I'm missing something and that there's a way to display enemy health bars (i.e. all of them at once, like the tab button does in Origins) as that used to be a very useful way to select targets. I suppose you could argue that enemies generally go down quickly enough that it's not too big a deal to lose this bit of tactical display, but it still would've been nice to have (and I certainly can't think of a reason not to include it).
Finally, the tactics screen was a major pain to use. Bigger is most definitely not better, as I very much preferred (in Origins) being able to see all my options at any given tree node, not to mention the entire tree I've navigated to that point. Also, the tree menu is buggy; nodes with children were sometimes very difficult to select. There was usually a sweet spot just to the left of the text, but it was very small, and if I got it wrong, I was dumped out of the tree entirely. At least dragging skills on to the quick bar improperly doesn't crash the game like in ME2.
Overall, the demo was disappointing, but not a deal breaker. I still think DA2 will be a pretty good game, but the UI may have needed a tad more refinement.

Then cancel your pre-order. Not a big deal. You don't like it, cancel.
