But I think I'll end up playing warrior/rogue so bethany doesn't die!
Carver's personality came off (in 45 minutes) as a tad too boring for me.
Also on a side note:
I wish you guys hired Canadians directly (without going through EA)!
I'm in elec/comp engineering and I'd love to intern for you guys but everything has to go through EA!
You guys should come to all the Unis, I'm sure it'd be real popular.

Cassandra is just adorable while main LI Isabel badly needs new promotional item - "Paper Bag".

I did have a lot of trouble reading the text, as well.
Do the developers ever test games on standard definition TVs just see how big the text will be? I love reading the codex but if the text stays the same I won't be able to.

I swear, all of these people who are passing their final judgment based off of a forty five minute demo make me sick.
It's like saying an entire restaurant is horrible because you didn't like their soup of the day.
And for God's sake people, your word is not law, and you are not superior to everybody else due to your opinion. People aren't stupid for enjoying it, and you're not a genius for hating it.The only point you make with statements like that is that you're a pompous fool.
Which is ironic since there are have just as many idiots by your defintion confirming too all of us peasants that it is indeed the greatest game ever after having played the same forty five minute demo, yet you mention nothing of them. Hmmmmmmm.
Because they're In and out, and I'm not seeing much flaming coming from them.
And frankly, there's a difference between thinking a game will be great based off of the demo, and thinking it's the worst game ever, planning to never buy it, and insult those who think it has potential to be fun.

The combat is amazing; it's much more involving than Origins in every aspect. In Origins I hated the warrior class, but this makes me want to play it.
The music is great.
The interface is to die for.
I'm kinda undecided on the new dialoge system. Maybe it's just me, but I don't like seeing what answer is 'good' or 'bad' or 'strong' or something like that. I've heard Mass Effect has something like that, but I'm not a Mass Effect player, so this is new to me.
There were a few things that I noticed that just bugged me a bit:
-I really don't like the solid bar at the top of the screen when subtitles are put on. In Origins, it was semi-transparent, thus allowing you to still see stuff in the back. With the solid bar, it feels like part of the screen is being cut off/out.
-I noticed that, when arrows stick to Hawke, they stretch. Like... when they stick to Hawke and Hawke moves, one end of the arrow stays in place and it stretches to follow when Hawke moves. It goes away after a few seconds, but it's a bit amusing to see.
-Character movement seems a bit jerky compaired to Origins. There's no smooth transition between standing still and moving; it's just like a jerk into motion. Everything seems a bit sped up.
The only thing that really really bugs me is that the game seems made for HD TVs. The text and everything is squished and small on standard deff. I unconciously read the subtitles, and because they're squished and tiny, I get annoyed really easily.
Other than those few things, the demo was great. Can't wait to play my Signature Edition when it arrives =D

The Good:
+Character looks bad-ass in combat
+Spell effects are impressive
+Animation is top-notch
The Meh:
~Sound was okay, voice acting didn't seem as good as DA:O
~Game ran iffy at High settings with no AA, no Anisotropic filtering turned on whereas DA:O ran flawlessly at all settings maxed on same PC. Probably just non-optimized Demo code...
The Bad:
-Game froze 20 minutes in
-No save
-Couldn't zoom out for tactical view
-Total of six play options, and 3 of them differ only in gender
-UI kept glitching when trying to set tactics - selections never registered when mouse hovered over, clicking seemed to choose random option
-Too fast paced. Felt like a console action game, not an RPG - more Ninja Gaiden, less DAO
-Enemies die in 2-3 hits, making the character look like a killing machine, but removing all feeling of accomplishment; Ogre took closer to 60 seconds but he never hit me thanks to backstab/teleport/evade
Bottom Line:
The game feels like an action game with RPG elements, and no longer like a strategy RPG. If this is the future of Dragon Age, then I'll be very sad that EA has killed off yet another promising role-playing series after the first game was such a magnificent example of an RPG done right.

Wow. Its just... wow. Is there ANYTHING that was improved? I won't judge the graphics, I don't care, as long as the story is great and its immersive. But using a brown ugly pipe-level for the demo was definetly not a smart move. The dialog system implies you are too stupid to understand your choices - here, colorful buttons. Yay! I hope the demo was on "ultra easy". Well, ok... there were situations were one could have used a potion, but that was more like optional eye candy than a necessity. Heck, even ogres are more like walking junk food now. The combat is just like Hack'n'Slay - except that you can comfortably pause if the book you are reading while playing reaches a nerve wracking new page. You now... when you get bored of those guys on the screen jumping around like they are on the moon or using their personal teleporters while letting other guys explode with the power of their minds while randomly waving around with their fancy plastic weapons. Whatever they do, somethings *plops* in a shower of blood.
I don't mind the *plop* or the shower of blood. I just want to work for that. I want to use my brain. Tactics, you know? Position my characters, think about efficient use of spells. Be afraid of friendly fire (What the f***? What ever happened to friendly fire???) Not rolling my head on the keyboard until everything is on cooldown and then rinse and repeat.
So glad I didn't preorder. After the whole mess with the Ultimate edition... just bah. I'll go and play Baldurs Gate. And if I want something more shiny, DAO. But what you produced here...
(PS: How dare I judge after having played only the demo? Well... I JUST PLAYED THE DEMO! How much more except downloading the pirated game can one want to make a buy/no buy decision?)

Based on the demo, I believe this game is inferior to the first. It's blatantly obvious that it's been dumbed down to fit consoles.
Pros:
-The new Spell effects are awesome. I feel way more powerful.
-The combat animations in general look better.
-The Story seems like it's going to be interesting.
Cons:
-The interface blows. It looks like a really cheap MMO. The bottom bar and player list are just cheaply placed. There should be some type of outlining like in the first.
-Tactics. I'm not sure on this one, but is it possible to get more than the default? If not, there aren't enough.
-I think it looks worse than the original. This one is too arcade like. The first felt gritty and real.
-Dialog system is too vague. I want to know exactly what I'm going to say.
-Performance sucked on a very high end PC. Hopefully this will be fixed before launch.
-Combat System....Dragon Age was hailed as the first great real RPG in years. It was a real Old School style RPG with slow tactical combat and plenty of depth to sink your teeth in to. This new combat system removes a lot of that. DA2 has an action combat system with RPG elements, not the other way around.
I'm disappointed. I'll still be playing because I enjoy the world and story, let's just hope I don't accidently profess my love for someone I don't want to because the dialog wheel is way too vague.

I will definitely not be purchasing a new copy of Mass Effect 3 if it too has that problem, I cannot support a company that is too lazy to address such a simple, yet widely hated, issue.

minor gripes
text too small and hard to read with the color combinations. Even with adjusting the brightness, next time will probably have to max it. I use a 27 inch 720p HD.
There was also some slight frame glitches, when it would load or cut from scene to scene.
Cannot wait to get my copy.

I'm not usually a complaining man.
But Isabella's breasts are... I don't know. Too much. It takes some of the legitimacy away from the story, somehow.
Could this at all be fixed?
All it's doing is making me feel weirded out.

Ive played as Mage and I was really confused about the new moves and everything and there are more things I dont like....
Ok, heres my feedback (PC):
pro:
-Good Synchro (German)
-Remarkable Characters
-Better Spell/Skill/Attribute-infos than in dao
-Nice combat animations
-Nice female bodies
contra:
-To much action! (I hope the Demo just showed some of the extremest action scenes. I dont want to play the whole game with rambo-feeling)
-Graphics could be better
-MANY! Performance problems (even with a very good PC, far better than the recommened requirements)
-No floating names even if u press TAB <_<<_<<_<<_<<_<<_< hope its just in the Demo
-U cant place AoE spells directly on an enemy like in dao
-Sound problems (the volume of the voices is kinda ****ed up on my PC and the sound quality was VERY bad o0)
-cutszenes were not sync...
Long story short: the demo hasnt impressed me.

Isabella is actually growing on me. She looks much more attractive in-game than she has in the various promotional stills and art.
Still, assuming Merrill likes girls as predicted, she remains more interesting to me.

Liked:
-Voices give Hawke personality, I like it. Actually makes him/her feel like a character who is part of the game rather than some sort of lifeless doll.
-Fast combat. Visually it really spices things up even though when it comes down to it's still the same as origins (on the PC with auto-attack, anyway).
-Graphics. For some reason I can run this game smoothly at native (1680 x 1050) on my computer, while Origins I always had to scale back quite a lot. So it looks nicer just for that.
Didn't like:
-1 minute cooldown on heal? Seriously? This was awful especially when my party just wouldn't drink potions when I told them to. I don't know whether the potions were still cooling down and I couldn't tell (bad design in that case) or they were just ignoring my commands. Died several times as mage on the Ogre battle due to this, which made it frustrating as it felt like it wasn't my fault.
-Tab not showing health on all enemies. I used that a lot in DAO to figure out who to target next.
-Zero emotional investment when Bethany died. Carver's death was slightly better as at least Bethany sounded upset. I have a feeling though that this might feel better in the full game on a second playthrough (for example, play through with Bethany first time, then play through second time and let her die - might feel sadder?)
Also, for the purposes of the demo, the jump ahead in time was very confusing. If I didn't already know it was going to happen, I would have been lost and thought the game was bad for seemingly missing out on so many events. I'm also hoping Kirkwall is much more populated in the full game!
Will be getting this game no matter what. Well, I'm getting it free, but I would certainly have paid full price for it

Cons:
- Extremely disapointed that there is no proper support for multi-monitor gaming (HUD not beign centered). The DA1 multimon issues aer still unfixed I might add (this will likely stop me from buying the game coupled w/ the other issues). I'm rather shocked by this to be honest.
- I can't say I care for the "faster" combat animations at all, it seems less fluid/natural than DA1; more cartoonish. Almost feels like a bad japanimé. To me this takes a lot out of the game; it loses the nice "feel" of DA1 imho. In fact I think I mostly hate the new combat anims.
- Very disapointed at the lack of inventory management for companions; didn't like it in ME2 don't like it here. Companion inventory management is a staple of CRPG and removing it to me is "dumbing it down"
- Disapointed at the non-working-well DX11 in the demo; will there be an updated demo?
- I kinda like the ME style main char voice-overs
- The improved gfx and details are nice overall; will probably add to non-combat immersion.
- The special moves look nicer; most seem quite useful (but risk being overdone)
- The skill trees look pretty good as well.
- I do like the much better descriptions for talents
- The tactical aspect seems mostly there but (feels different? due to combat anims/pacong?)

Positives:
Art style is nice. The textures did not have very good resolution, but hopefully this is because the demo caps you at "medium" video settings w/ dx9. (dx11 crashed on me)
Liked the responsiveness of the combat.
Dialog wheel is... meh, need to see more of it before deciding if I like a talking Hawke.
Negatives:
Mage seems to be missing the real crowd-pleasing spells. Maybe some AOE spells should take a little while to cast, but compensate by being absolutely devastating? I'm hoping that we'll see some of this in the actual game.
Running animation for female characters is sort of goofy.
Mage gear (long nightgown?) seemed pretty silly looking. Hopefully the other choices will look cooler...
Post release, I would really like to have mod support (updated toolset, please).
