Gah! Now I'm getting the d3dx11_43.dll missing error. I tried using the direct x in the DA2 folder but it doesn't seem to be working. Tried reinstalling a couple times as well...

EDIT:  The direct x install is working but it doesn't fix the problem.

if your having problems downloading thru IE try this http://www.freedownloadmanager.org/ it's a 100% GPL program and supports resume, torrent and will keep the connection active.

Awesome demo! Loads of new features-more interactive and a hectic combat style. You did good Bioware...you did good. Good luck to everyone on the demo download. I heard that there was massive overloads = downtime.

Just got done playing the male mage. This character is a lot more glitchy than the female rouge. Where the rouge was bad-ass and polished, the mage's spells were not always up to pace with the speed of the action. Mind blast only seemed to work half of the time. Freeze would often not freeze and I would have to target the enemy again and freeze him twice. There were certain character dialogs that did not match up to the timing of the scenario as well. I did not notice this glitch with the female rouge. Mages are definitely going to be a more difficult role this time around, but the challenge is good.

I am still holding off judgment until I play the demo. However, after seeing the YouTube videos, I could not help but notice an eerie similarity to another game. I fought for a few moments, and then the title hit me hard.

It feels like a "Mortal Kombat III" rpg.

I apologies if this has been asked and answered but does anyone know if the pause and issue orders will be available for console or is that gonna be just PC only? Reason I ask is I found myself in the demo stunning an opponent with my warrior and fumbling around trying to get my Mage into position to lay waste to my stunned enemy. It would be a lot easier with the DA:O pause and order.

Thanks for that!  The Bioware server was only giving me 100kb/s, but with this torrent I'm gettting 500+kb/s and rising.  Not as fast as I'd like, but it's better than Bioware's speeds.

The game stopped crashing when I changed from DirectX 11 to DirectX 9. The demo was okay... I had already seen it all before but it was nice to play it by myself. Solid demo overall, though as I had feared it feels like I am directing some other person rather than being the person myself. Oh well, still looking forward to it.
