why is it every big company fails at downloads speeds?

why is it big companys dont learn torrent system is the way to go.

sure the site went down due to stress and back up again fast but the speed on the dl is beyond hope of ever finnish this year even with 10 meg per sec connection.



its somewhat odd that a 20 gig game from gamers gate takes less time to finnish than 2 gig Da2 demo all i say is Torrents we have the technology why not use it!

problem is that softpedia is using a link to the same download server they are not hosting it.

Finally found a website that has the (german) demo with a reasonable download speed. It's going up and down there, too, but at least the lower end is at about 2 MBit/s (high end is at 5 MBit and more).

Think it's worth it to start over? It's slowing to the point of stoping now, and not matching my download speeds which even at a server 1700 miles away, i had 20 Mb/sec download.

Hmm, I started my download fifteen minutes ago (finally got through the busy-server errors) and it's now telling me I have about an hour remaining. It's on a consistent 435ish KB/s. But I'm using Free Download Manager, so the download is split into parts to make it quicker. And it is also supposed to make the download resumable (from a post in another thread, I understand that, by default, the demo is not resumable.)

I guess you might have mistaken the thread, but it's not really nice to come and brag in a crowd of angry demo downloaders...slow downloaders may i add. Someone who has it, please put it in a torrent!
