Downloading right now at about 1/10th the speed I get when downloading Steam demos or from Blizzard's "torrent" style downloader .

I'm getting 440 kb/s from the DA2 download

I'm getting 380 kb/s from the Total War: Shogun 2 downlaod on Steam

Just get uTorrent. It's ridiculously small and doesn't require an installation.

Depends. Gamershell is offering mirrors AND a torrent. The torrent is faster than the mirrors for a lot of people.

I am pulling 1.7mb/s from the torrent. To dl the torrent I recommend using utorrent.

Get µTorrent! (Utorrent.com) Best Torrent proggie, imho. And thanks for the link to gamershell! A helluva lot faster d/l speed! ETA is now 1:30 hr instead of 5 hours I was getting at 100KBps from EA servers!

Guess you'll never play Blizzard games then. All their digital version games and patches are distributed via TORRENT!

for some reason some people only associate torrents with illegal filesharing which is ridiculous, yes they are used for that but so is http. torrent is simply a protocol, a torrent client is basically a download manager. And programs like utorrent are extremely small.

Well I never needed it yet, and just for this demo I can wait 20 mins longer.

It'll be downloaded in 1hr 33 minutes and I'm downloading it from which has an ocean between between here and there. It's already surpassed the Bioware download I've had going for an 1.5 hrs in the 6 minutes since I started. As with prices, you just have to shop around.

Edit: The download speed is actually increasing little by little.

I have roughly 3 hours to kill before the DL is done at the current speed. Hm. I think I'll go fix myself some nice dinner, relax, watch a movie or two and look again after that. Maybe I will play some other game, got enough lying around here.

Learn to use your Start Menu and be a real man, disable desktop icons.

Ever since I got a monitor capable of HD I have hated desktop icons. They just ruin your actual desktop and fill it with clutter.
