Is downloading from an alternate site (not BioWare) safe?  Will downloading from http://www.gamershel...oad_70000.shtml still offer the same sort of transition to the full version as if you'd have waited for the sloooowwww download from BioWare?

Currently 30% downloaded from the DA2 site, 10% downloaded from the European site, and 7% downloaded via PS3. I will get this damn game downloaded by hook or by crook!

Right now, if you have steam that's your best bet. Otherwise, I'm not sure.

Well i just beat the demo but it didnt say anything about getting the unlock..... I hope i didnt get a messed up download....

Since last I read the character creator and game import features are disabled in the demo, and you can't transition straight from that to the full game... I'll say yes.   

I'm downloading from gamershell right now.  Looks like it'll take less than half an hour.
The Bioware download... well, it would give me something to do on Friday...  Which was about when it would have finished downloading.
That isn't a joke, either.  It seriously said two days eight hours.  Did I jump into a time machine and end up on my dial up connection from 1997?

No kidding. I beat it once as a mage. Worked fine.... but it didnt say anything about getting the unlock. Now that i try to go and play it again. it stops working at a certain point....

Well, I downloaded the first half of the game three times (taking a few hours each) and then it would stop. Luckily (at hour #9), I have downloaded the complete demo and its now installing. Fingers crossed the it works.



(I am so glad that I am getting the game disc when it comes out.)

lol you guys have no idea how frustrating it is for me.  The default link to download the dragon age 2 demo on bioware's site works mightily fine for me going at a strong 600 kb/s and then suddenly 20 minutes later when I'm at the 1 gb mark it drops back down to pre dial-up speeds meaning 19 kb/s or lower O.o  I would really love an explanation to why that is ....i smell something fishy going on...

It's attached to the account you're using right now. Go to your profile on the right, and click on registered game promototions. Should be there.
