***Even if you are running Windows 7 and it all seems to be up-to-date, this should solve the problem.

Yup, this worked. Odd that the game installer had already asked me to install a Direct X version during installation and then it complains after the fact again.

What if I got an error mentioning d3dx11_43.dll (even though the demo is not supposed to support DX11 rendering) ? Will it fix the problem as well ?

The game does support DX 11, you can check it in the configuration box. If ypu accept the directx update during game install you need to browse to the install folder and open: Dragon Age 2 Demo\\redist\\DirectX and start DXsetup.exe to actually install directX.



The installer of the game doesnt actually install directx, it only puts the files on your system.
