Thank you good Ser, you are a legend. After waiting for 5 hours for the demo to download and install I nearly cried when it wouldn't work and told me to try reinstalling it.

Thanks, I got this error too, using Windows 7 64bit. I tried reinstalling and got the question about installing directx , said Yes but that didn't help.

Your link did the trick - it downloaded loads of updates and the demo plays now. Many thanks!

I reinstalled and tried manually installing the d3dx9_43.dll file, with no luck. Your *WORKING SOLUTION* worked like a charm! Thank you very much!!!
