I've been waiting this demo for a while and this feels kinda bad that I have to play through the same sequence for the SIXTH freaking time!!!
Why is there no save...?
I really hope you guys fix these for the retail version because... just meh... no words

I clicked 'Play' on the launcher and a error message came up, saying "The program can't start because d3dx9_43.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."
I'm getting this as well, don't even get to see the game start
For some reason running the installer makes my machine run a lot slower and gets prone to just freezing.

Here is a quick fix that seems to work. I run max settings, with direct 11 but I guess it will work with any setting, All i did was turn off full screen and the game runs great for me,
I had the same crashes when using direct 9 and could not run direct 11 at any setting before i went into window mode.
Thanks! This worked for me too. I was able to finish the demo without crashing and the loading times between cutscenes also disappeared.
worked for me 2 and i just finished it

Same setting as last successful playthrough (dx9) and it crashed/froze after CC.
Win7 64bit, i7-870, 4gb ram, MSI radeon 5850.
I seriously hope this is a demo problem or else

crashed once with maxed settings.Rob Bartel wrote...
Thanks everyone. We've filed a bug internally and are investigating. In the meantime, based on this thread, it sounds like this is tied to attempting to run under maxed out settings and with DirectX 11. Can you confirm whether or not you're able to play one you reduce your settings?
Thanks for your patience.
Played the second time though.

It also worked for me. It's the only way I can play the demo though. My configuration is: Windows 7 64 bit, 4 GB RAM, CPU Intel Core2 Duo E6600, GPU ASUS nVidia GTX460

I always get application crash after the customisation screen (Start game).
On the first run: Dx11, High details, AA on.
Then I tried the other suggestions: Dx9, Medium details, windowed mode, run as Admin, disabled AA. Nothing helped, cannot get pass the customisation screen
This is not a good way to promote a game...
Maybe Bioware does not want me to get the special items for completing the demo

I tried it with maxed settings with DirectX11 and it crashed after the CC screen. Then I went back to the settings and put everything on the lowest settings with DirectX 9 and it still crashed at the same place.
Specs:
- Intel Core i7 860 2.80GHz
- Windows 7 x64
- 6GB Ram
- ATI Radeon HD 5770
I had the same trouble it crashed no matter what at the cc screen or just after - i put my settings to dx9, very high detail, no aa and turned off v-sync, it worked for me that way.
v-sync seemed to be the only thing i did different from my other attempts.....on the plus side i'll be bloomin good at the ogre fight when i get the full game
