Game is beautiful, wish i could play when pressing start after character creation. Win 7 64 bit 2.8 MHz, 4 GB RAM, ATI Radeon HD 5670 (1 GB VRAM), current drivers....same as most of the previous posts. Tried running as admin, lowest graphics, anti alising (spell check lol) off. Nothing is working......

When you are reporting issues such as crashing, it would help if you posted at leas some systems specs for your system.
As a minimum, it would help to post specs as per the following example:
Is it just me or does this guy seem a bit pissy in his post? You might find that other people in the prev 8 pages have posted some specs (the vast majority differ from eachother) and the only common factor in all of them is your broken Demo.

The demo crashes for me right after character creation. I change my characters name, click done (or whatever) button, crash.

Not sure if you've read the previous posts but try running it with v-sync turned off, if that doesnt work play it on medium settings with DX9 and not 11 apparently the demo isnt geared to running on it....still works on mine tho. Failing all that run it in windowed mode so you can see the abundance of error messages that will probably be popping up.Good luck

Just to make things even more confussing, playing in windowed mode doesn't help either. Mine crashed in both fullscreen and windowed mode after pressing the Play button. Only playing with direct x9 and average details settings i was able to play through the demo.

To clarify on my previous post I'm also in 64-bit mode Windows 7. And it crashes on Direct X9 or 11. Haven't tried average detail though. If I have to do that I'll just go play it on my 360.

Two words: Vertical Sync. Came enabled by default. Disabled it and now its running just fine.
I had the third version of the crash, at character creation

Tried it all and it keeps crashing! It usualy crashes after I chat with the family, some times before the DS attack and some times after.

I also crashed from the create character loading screen, but then went and turned my settings down to medium with no anti-aliasing. Worked after that!

Wow, finally got through the demo. I stand corrected. It DID crash at the CC, even with running in Administrator mode. Only did so 1/3 times, so it's better than 0/2 times when I ran in regular mode.

Played demo, crashed several times (twice near the beginning during combat and once in the middle right after a combat scene.
Was having framerate issues, so tried forcing Vsync, Triple Buffering and Threaded Optimization with Nvidia Control Panel, as well as overclocking with EVGA Precision, and framerate was still stuck around 30 FPS.
Tried to run everything as high as possible in settings.

Crashed during the first combat after the character creation...
Settings at max for the demo
1920x1200, win 7 x64, Q9450, 8GB Ram, gtx 470, drivers 266.58, vsynch on.
Game is really "laggy" by the way

Finally was able to finish the demo (after many many crashes).
The trick that did it for me was running the game in Windowed mode. (DX11 or DX9) everything maxed out.
For those that might need to know.

Damn i might be very lucky. I've got a 3years old config, (dell xps 1530) and in dx9, AAx2, medium (since dx9 can't go further for me) 1980x1200 everything was great in this demo. Better frame rate than DA:O, no lag what so ever, no crash, very nice graphics.
I was afraid that my computer was not up to the challenge and even if i have a xbox360, i like to play on DA on pc.
Bioware i'm impressed again, great gameplay (there's nothing really like it, basically the same than DA:O but much more action, more technique (the archer seems finaly usefull).
I'm preordering right now on steam

My Turn, crash after character creation 3 times... I guess i need to "beta-test" to find where and when it crashes
My system:
Intel I5 750 @ 2,67GHz family 6, model 30, stepping 5
Windows 7 Professional x64 bit Op. system
Nvidia GTS 250 1 Gig vram Dr. Vers. 258.96
Generic PnP Mon. @ 1920 x 1200 x 32bpp Refresh at 59Hz
4Gig ram .....Config reports Total; 3.99 GB availble, 2.71 GB used, used 1.27GB
Page file: total: 7.98 GB available: 6.31 GB used 1.66GB
Your Config reports Res. 1920 X 1200 Asp Rat. 16:10 Graphics detail; Med. Setting. anti-aliasing OFF renderer directX 9... Full screen mode and vertical sync are both active (checked)
The demo runs fine in the primary seq. no lags, no excessive load times. When program crashes, windows reports it is looking for a solution. I have had problem with some software reconizing the quad core processor... maybe here too?

Played the demo a few times, though only finished it twice due to some crashes (black screen -> windows cursor -> Dragon Age stopped working). Dx9 or Dx11 didn't seem to make a change stability wise, got crashes with both, and finished it once with both.
Friend of mine seemed to suggest running the demo as administrator, and that seemed to work, since the 2 times I did run it as admin, it didn't crash (could be a coincidence, don't know). For those that want to try it, run the Dragonage2demo executable as administrator, should be in the bin_ship folder of the dragonage2 installation.
Demo seemed to run decent-ish at 1920x1080, as long as the AA slider was left alone. Any AA would cripple the framerate (though I already read that dx11 isn't working in the demo). Transitions to cutscenes seemed to slow the game down, and there are several points during the cutscenes where the game stops a second or so and needs to load.
Another thing I noticed, unrelated to performance issues, is the animation of the Female Hawke character when running around out of combat. It seems a bit weird. Slightly sluggish, maybe too much wiggle with the hips, hard to describe, but it just seems a bit off. Animation during cutscenes seems spot on.
Overall I was very impressed with the demo and can't wait for March 11. The combat seems to be so much smoother and action oriented while the tactical feel and depth of combat is still as good as ever. Didn't think that would be possible, but they seemed to have nailed it.

Yep, disabling vertical sync under video options fixed the crashes I was having repeatedly (usually right after the point where you name your character).

The game crashes after the character customization screen. I've tried both with the DirectX 11 renderer on and off. It once crashed (with DX11 off) when I killed the ogre. This is rather frustrating! I absolutely love these first 10 minutes of the demo, but unfortunately they're the only 10 minutes I can play!

Chalk up another that's crashing after character creation screen
- Win 7
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.66 Ghz
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 465
2 GB DDR Ram
Was able to play the first time, exited game to grab dinner, re-run game, tried twice and a crash each time after disabled character creation screen.
Please Bioware, time to get a divorce from EA, it ain't working out!
Oh and now this forum keeps logging me out as soon as I log in. lol
