Good vid.

Was nice to see some later combat with more spells, which can make the game more tactical. All the people saying its hack and slash should watch this tbh.

It was very informative... Some of it was stuff we already knew, but Mike does a good job explaining things

Love those robes. I know what my mage is wearing for the entirety of the game. I don't care if it means lots of dying from wearing low-level gear.

This^^

I thought the robes were gorgeous, and I can't wait to get them!

Ugh, I was hoping Bioware would scale their levels properly this time but it seems we still get very unrealstic scaling on most of the in-game props. Wooden doors almost twice as tall as your character and 3 times as wide, tables that a Dwarf probably can't even use while sitting. Lamps the twice size of your head...the list goes on. With the artistic direction and the UI change, I can say DA2 really doesn't appeal to me visually. That's hope they can make it up in the story and gameplay department.

Kirkwall is so, SO empty and lifeless.

I love how it looks, all that stone, the vegetation looks beautiful, the mages are so cool now, but damn, its SO lifeless for a capital huge city-

Watched it yesterday night because I was curious, and it was a good thing I did. I wonder about the empty city too, though, must have some reasons? I can't wait to play this game!

If you pay attention to the map they use to move around in .. you can see it is Night Time. Image IPB

I quite like the fixed outfits... For example, I always felt a slight twinge of guilt switching Morrigan's default outfit for something just slightly better... Some outfits don't suit certain characters. It seemed strange to see Morrigan in some Mage Circle robes (which in reality she'd refuse to wear), commenting on 'if the servants ask me if i want a change of clothes on more time, I will set this house on fire' - doesn't really work when not in default outfit... So I quite like the idea :P

Anyone notice when the menu goes full screen that Fenris is there instead of Carver, and then Carver's back when they exit the menu? Strange little bug there...

I just saw the video and it really got me more psyched than the demo. I really liked the demo and this makes me anticipate it more. My only fear for this game is that it's too short. They said it was shorter than DA:O but longer than ME2 I think.

I think that interview does a much better job of showing off the game than the demo.

Fenris is an uninteresting character with another of those godspeed two handed swords...yeesh, he makes me want to give him some food, he's so freaking thin and still wields that huge sword...

Then again, Mike is so cute. He looks like a teddybear you just want to cuddle :)

Everything looks great.

First mod out the gate is definitely going to be a 'populate Kirkwall' mod, that puts in about 80% more idle bystanders.

Remember that it's nighttime. So logically, it would be less populated.

I think we would see more people in the day.

I know, but still, there was like nobody in all the city zones they explored in 30 mins of Gamplay, i felt it weird, empty dunno.

Also, I don't want to sound like a mincing sycophant, but Mike Laidlaw is a really articulate and convincing demonstrator of the game. I liked how he answered questions frankly without that sort of marketing speak. It was good to reference Demon's Souls and WoW, that was information that put things in a nice perspective.

first time i heard Fenris' voice. Completely doesn't fit with his appearance... but oh well...

EDIT: FRAGGING HELL ITS BALTHIER FROM FFXII. Fenris just shot up a whole wad of points in my estimation... might have to have him in my party just to hear Balthier's voice.

I have to agree with the concerns regarding how lifeless Kirkwall seems to be. For a huge capital city, it's strange to see how empty the place looks even during daytime.

Generally speaking capital cities... indeed most large cities have fairly substantial night life.
