During the middle ages?
Totally, those cities didn't let a lack of electricity, a non-existant disposable income, and the lack of the 5 day work week for the majority of the population get in the way of listening to some music, doing a bit of dancing, and downing some drinks on the weekend.

I like Fenris's VA, mystical but easy to listen to. They seem to have chosen the VAs extremely well for DA2 for all characters.
Funny you say that because Gideon Emery also did the Mystical Human Male voice to choose for your Warden.

I want to say I found the communication from Bioware extremely shaky at ong these months. But I always found Mike sexy and very convincing when he speaks of DA.
I wouldn't say sexy but he really makes me want the game more. Maybe it's his demeanor or something but it works.

I would not be surprised if the demo versions they're showing have NPCs removed from the city in order to boost the framerate. However, if that's the way it is in the retail version, I don't care how much it slows down my game, I'll use the first mod that comes out to add more NPCs. If what we're seeing is any indication of how the rest of the city is done, they've done a great job of building the environment -- it finally feels like a real capital city (Denerim did not feel this way to me). But, having built the environment, you've got to have people living in it otherwise it'll just feel that much more surreal and eerie. So, here's hoping we're just worried about a nighttime or demo issue.
As for Hawke's armor, I'm not going to look for a quote right now, but yes, you can change his armor, just not the companions.
Sorry, you mean that companions will wear the same clothes for 10 years? You can't put any new armor on them????

Alot of people are commenting on this. It's a figure of speech, is all. But if you need ingame proof, in the demo, Varric tells Cassandra that he doesn't know where Hawke is right now. That'd be quite the odd comment from him, if hawke was, in fact, dead.Ironruster wrote...
Did anyone else catch when they were talking about the boss battles, how he said they get pretty epic towards the end of Hawkes life? Main charicter death a possiblity then like in origins? Might be reading to much to it.
End ?spoiler?
You are assuming that Varric's story caps both ends of the game. It's more likely that they use him up to a point, and then we play "current events" as Hawke saves the world for the Chantry (or whatever.) So Laidlaw could have slipped that basically Hawke will be dead at the end of the game.
It has the potential of being a major slip of the tongue by Laidlaw at the very least.

The impression I got from the video was that they are going the ME2 route in that regard, where companion appearance only changes if you open up alternate costumes via better relationships. Or something along those lines.

If you watch this video you'll see Aveline has different clothes, armour to be specific. From what I've read I assume that companions sometimes can change clothes, but it will be like buying upgrade just for them, they can't wear what you can, they can get some new clothes 'prepared just for them' in game:)Avalastrius wrote...

Does that mean that they have dumbed down the number of items, clothes and armour?
For a space game, like Mass Effect, it makes sense to keep the same armour, since you are using fancy upgrades.
But in DA2? For a story that spans 10 years???
I hate that lack of detail. It just ruins immersion.
Stupid, stupid move by BioWare.

No. What he meant was that at the end of stages of Hawkes life. The game covers 10 years, and there will be divisions between major chunks, each ending in a major boss battle which concludes the current arc and allows for a jump cut to 3 years later. They are chapter dividers.

Yup, i just wonder how many times.
Another thing, varric, cool char, but almost not customizable at all, that sucks ass- I mean, fixed armor, fixed weapon... I really hate that.

Runes for armor, rings, amulet, belt. I'm in the camp that enjoys having fixed outfits (especially if they change over time) if I can choose the upgrades attached to them.
I too felt.....a twinge of guilt if I changed Morrigans outfit in origins, or made Sten use a different sword. I can understand why people wouldnt like it, but i think the point BW are trying to get across is that these people have lives independent of Hawke and make their own choices (i.e. Yes I will fight with you, no you cant tell me how to dress [or in the case of Varric touch my weapon]. It's certainly a different dynamic in RPG's but one I can follow logically and enjoy because I like uniqueness of my companions visually and personality wise, whereas in origins Wynne could look like morrigan could look like Leliana from a robe stand point.
It all comes down to expectations from both a combat and roleplaying perspective!
