I had to disable the floppy drive (that
don't even have) in the device manager.

My drive A was also a designated floppy drive that I didn't actually have in my PC so disabling it through Device Manager did the trick.  Thank you for posting this fix.  Anyone else who has the same situation should probably try this.

That worked for the first message (regarding the Floppy drive), but I still receive the "\\\\Device\\\\Harddisk2\\\\DR2" errors (the number goes up and I have to click 'Try Again' through 5 or 6 dialogue windows. This works sometimes, but occasionally I am told I couldn't connect to the servers, and only once have I seen the black screen reported by one of the previous posters. I received these same errors in the demo.
Also, I have unplugged my external hdd, but do have an 8 in 1 card reader.

AFAIK, all of you are talking about a rare error with the game, but all of you chose to post about it in the Demo's forum.

I was able to login through repeated attempts, despite the warnings. Weird. I hope it works.

Yep, just ran into this installing DAII on my new computer through Origin.  I just cancelled and logged in again and it worked.

The DA2 Demo is strictly a download.  There is no disk involved, anywhere.  All of you and the thread are off topic here.
