Hey folks,

I've been fuddling around with chests and can't seem to figure out how I put a specific item I create IN a chest. Searched the forum - came up with nothing. Looked through the tutorials, nothing.

Any help?

I'm having the same problem... I can add standard items to a container placeable, but I'm unable to add custom items. I've experimented with checking the items in and out, and putting them in standard folders in the palette window without success.

I'm guessing that the item has to have a 'can be put in inventory' flag set to True, or something... but I haven't had luck finding which flag that would be. Does anybody have any ideas?

After you've created your container placeable, and checked in your custom item, you have to refresh the database, and then you should be able to add it.

IIRC, that's true whenever you're trying to add new content---the toolset has items and so forth cached, so when you add something new that you're going to pull in somewhere else, you have to refresh that cache.

Heh... wow. That was really simple. Thanks a lot! :D

For some reason I can't add items I've made to containers either, the container placeable is "read-only" it says, and I don't know how or if I can make it editable.

Check out, and check the item in again. This is a bug I've ran into... (i think)

They're all checked in (I can't add items to creature inventory either, like no items, even the standard ones)

What kind of box are you trying to place items in? Have you checked the scripts on the box used in the demo module that ships with the toolset? it has a custom inventory?

As for creatures... you're doing something wrong... uhh... I followed this tutorial and was able to create custom monsters and give them whatever gear I wanted. There are also some GREAT youtube videos on this topic I don't have on hand.<_<

wrt the OP, you can use F5 to refresh the palette for inventory selection.

wrt read-only objects, you need to check an object out (or make a local copy, as appropriate) in order to edit it.
