She kind of reminded me of a female Han Solo. Losing the cargo...having an enemy being pissed off at her for that. Hunting her down.

We all know that Han was packing way more than just that blaster pistol, if you know what I mean* ;)

*and i think that you do

So whats your thoughts on this clear "designed by men for teenagers... And men" character after playing the demo?
Big tats: check
Reveling cloths: check
Wants your *giggle-Squee-giggle*: check
"Badass no double crossing attitude": check
it all adds up.

She has tats?

The writer is female, fyi.

Are you actually trying to make the little puke see reason?

I'm more partial to a Dwarven female physique. Just like Sir Mix-A-Lot.

Honestly, this talk about Isabela drives me nuts. Isabela isn't a sexualized character. Isabela is a sexualized PERSON. It's not feminist to say that women should have to wear habits and be modest, is it? This is just who Isabela is, she's not this way to please any man.

lol a person, that's a good one. She is a character, created by a team of writers. There is no doubt that they would not completely shun the notion of adding some fan-service into the game.

Well Alistair was the hopeless romantic female's dream, so if it's nerdy teenage boy's turn that's only fair! And if I'm lucky maybe I'll get my hopeless romantic fix again with Anders.

I think it is pretty clear that Isabella is fan service of the first order, at least as far as appearance goes... but I trust the writers to come up with depth as well. Odds are if you go through her storyline you will find she is three dimensional (in more ways than one *grin*).

Why else would you dress like that if you want to be treated like a person not a object?

The only concern I have with Isabela is that she'll upstage my Lady Hawke when it comes to sexiness and badassery. And, frankly, that's a concern I can live with.

I thought Hawke's mum was way hotter.

No, kidding, I liked Isabella. She seemed somewhat less smug than in Origins.

As long as she keeps her deck of cards tucked away we can be friends.

Because it makes you feel empowered, pretty, and awesome, and it gives you power over men who you can use for your wishes.

I enjoy her, both her pleasing form, and her playful nature. I mean we already had, I'm hot, and i'm a ice queen in ME 2, and I'm hot but i'm plotting all the time in DAO (morrigan) it's about time we had hot and I'm in it to have a good time. I mean if you don't like her, just leave her out of your main party of 4 (3 and yourself)

Huh... I don't know what kind of nerds you hang out with, but Merrill is way closer to the dreams of my nerds. Nerds don't want supermodels, they want someone they can have sex with both in real life and in their D&D games. Trufax.

I see what you are getting at, Tali and all that, but I think teenagers will be more pulled toward the tanned lady with the huge breasts than a little elf.

Fan service? You mean like Morrigan... and Leliana... and even Zevran for the gay gentlemen among us?

This is not new. :D

Power over men you can use for your wishes? So either a succubus or a b!tch.

When do you guys think Bioware will move on from this design? Look at Tali, you wont at first glance think "well shes hot" like you do with Miranda, people seem to like her alot.

I, too, think that Merril is far more a true nerd's dream, especially since we know who her VA is! Being a nerd has little to do with being adolescent.

Often young people that are just past their teenage years think they can mimic maturity by looking down on everything that displays sexualtiy a little more aggressivly.

Men do it, women do it. Call her a **** if you want, but Isabela knows how to use what she's got to get what she wants, and how to only give it to people who she chooses to. You call that ****y, I call that awesome.

Short shorts? Nah I'd be proud to wear that.
