Been through the Mage's Tower again, eyeballing all books, chests and bookcases.  Obviously I missed something.  Where do I find Flemeth's Grimoire?  Thanks!

No, it's the Black Grimoire of Flemeth, it initiates the whole Flemeth's (real) Grimoire quest.

Thanks. I think. I saw some posts earlier that talked about giving Morrigan a grimoire early and I wonder if I have done that before getting the "Flemeth's Grimoire" quest. Will see...

There's Flemeth's black Grimoire and Flemeth's regular grimoire at her hut, which I missed and it isn't there if you revisit the hut later. Does that mean I blew it, like not finishing the dog quest at the start before the beacon in the tower = no dog for you, bad boy.

You have to dispose of Flemmeth before you get her 'real' grimoire. Or it is quite possible you could trade for it with her, though I took the more fun route so I couldnt say if that line of conversation works out.   You have to get Morrigans personal quest before this is triggered.

You get Flemeth's grimoire after Morrigan gives you her personal quest to go kill Flemeth. She gives you this sometime after you have given her the black grimoire.

You get the option to kill Flemeth and loot the key to her chest inside, or to bargain with her and take the grimoire without killing her. If you haven't had the quest for this yet, you're still safe to get it in the future.

I waited to do the Flemeth's Grimoire quest and now when I go to Flemeth's hut, there is no one there. Did I miss out on this? Does anyone know how to complete the quest?

If you have Morrgian in your party it won't trigger it.

Did you accept Morrgian's offer, (Yes/No)

Then you should be able to travel down to the hut only after you spoken to Morrgian in camp. And she tells you about this, you will know this from her..well telling you about what her mother plans to do.

If you try to do the quest before it's triggered and/ with Morrgian in the party, she won't be there. Well she might be there if you triggered the quest but won't trigger a topic untill Morrgian is not in her presence

I am not sure if there is an actual time frame for completion of the quest for flemeths grimoire but you will notice the spread of the darkspawn over the map and the overrunning of Lothering Perhaps there is a point at which that can no longer be accomplished. I usually get that quest done right after i do the circle tower or within 1 or 2 quests of the circle tower and Flemeth has always been there. But Joshd21 is right you cannot have morrigan in your party while attempting to do this.

The lothering village being overun by darkspawn didn't have an impact on it really. The hunt and Lothering are two seperate places, even very late in the game you should be able to travel to her hut anytime. Now if the quest is not triggered by not talking to Morrgian in camp.

Then her hut will be there but she won't. I went to do the Mage circle quest as my first one and then went back to camp. Right away, Morrgian opened up with the topic about it. Even though Lothering village is gone, you should be able to click and travel to her hut.

But obviously will only appear, once you triggered that quest. You do so by clicking "Camp" a foolish mistake I made when I very first started the game. I had no idea you could go back to camp to trigger convos or there even was a camp

Women are bizzare creatures...having just confronted Flemeth about the book and how she extends her lifespan etc Leliani says to me " Sparing Flemeth would be the more noble thing to do right " so I agreed to spare Flemeth and the next thing I know is " leliani dissaproves -3 "....She'll make her feckin mind up one day !!!!!

If you were paying attention, her "Right?" at the end of that sentence was extremely skeptical.

I have killed Flemeth for the personal quest, and got the key. I got into the hut and opened the chest -- but all that was in there was the robes of possession for Morrigan. No grimoire even tho my quest tracker says I can get it, since I killed Flemeth. What gives?
