ok for my problem it must be a firewall setting becouse i unplugged the router and plugged right into the modem and no problems, funny though the only 2 games that it does this with are the dragon age 2 demo and mass effect 2

Try skipping the cinematic trailer at the end I did and it kept me logged in. Did this after my 3rd try. It might be a coincidence but if it works for anyone else then there you go.

Odd question, and forgive the ignorance, but if I wanted the razor for say the Xbox version, it would be safe to assume Id have to play the Xbox demo exclusively, rather than say the PC demo and have it assigned across the board (PC/Xbox/Ps3).?

Running the PC demo here. I noticed the "disconnected from server message" just after the cinematic where you first meet Isabela. It spams with all the other messages just as the first combat starts. I'm going to try the 360 demo tomorrow and see if I get the same result, or if it's just the PC demo.



There doesn't appear to be a way to reconnect after you've been disconnected aside from starting a brand new game maybe. Kind of a pain in the butt, and not very cool for folks that can't play the 360/PS versions if it's just the PC version.

Had the same problem with the demo on PC, on my 2nd try I checked regularly in options/account menu if I was logged in. It seems that I got kicked out from DA servers while the end cinematic was playing, because I was still logged in during the final battle.

So on my third try I quickly skipped through all of the dialogues and cinematics and quickly finished the demo. It helped. I now have Hayder's Razor in my Registered Game Promotions.

PS: I doubt there is any connection, but I played mage class on my third try. The first two were warriors.

Only way through it is to KEEP PLAYING. On my 6th playthrough it worked. The more cynical side of me makes me think they did this on purpose....



But just keep playing through. It will catch you eventually.

This bug is so annoying... it will randomly log me out of the servers halfway through the demo.



But then again, look at my username. I picked that when their servers barfed under the load last time, too.

I have the same problem. I've played it through three times now and each time I manually log in and play it through, only to finish and discover I have been logged out... =/ I didn't mind playing it a few times and I'm sure I will play it a few more..but I want to actually get the Razor, that would be nice!

Hitting ESC while in dialogues and especially durring the end cinematic didn't help then?

There were a lot of problems with DA:O and with DLC for it, so it's no suprise that there are bugs in this demo. At least the game engine seems to be optimized really well compared to DA:O. Graphics and animations are a lot better too.

Rather than throw this in a new thread, thought I'd better just put it in here:

For me, I've recently changed my email address for my EA account and Windows Live ID/Xbox Email to the one that matches my BioWare Social Network mail - therefore, I thought this would link them all successfully, as I had most of my game promotions on this account. However - on my registered game promotions page, the Razor hasn't shown up, and it states I have no Xbox Gamertag; is there anyway I can add one, or is this process just taking long (for both the add of the Razor and link of all profiles)?



Hopefully this'll be sorted in due time, but does anyone have any idea what step to take next? Thanks in advance!

Yeah i'm the same. Finished the demo (PC) found i was logged out, didn't get the game promotion. I mean i don't mind playing through a couple of times but if it's gonna happen every time....

Same problem here... PC demo

Made sure I was logged in when I started the demo but before the end, the EA server logs me out before I can finish the demo.

I never did see any notice about being logged out.

Also skipped all conversations and cinematics but did not help.

After 4 play thrus, it would seem like the EA servers are logging me out right near the end of the demo.

Besides skipping the cinematics, any other suggestions?

I've had the same problem with the demo for PC but i've just disabled the sending feedback option and the automatic log in...and worked now i have the hayden's razor for precautions i would suggest to skip all the cutscene and finish the demo asap to obtain the extra item.

Anyone know how, or if, you can change the ea account within the game? I created a new one forgetting I already had one, already have some codes redeemed in the new one, and would like to redeem the DA2 stuff in the new one as well, but when I start the game it automatically has my old one in there. Any thoughts?

Played through the demo 6 times before successfully unlocking the razor. Tried all the suggestions in this thread but what finally worked was unchecking the "always log me in" option, then manually logging in before my sixth play-through.

Yea, for me too the Auto-Login didnt work, so i unchecked and logged in manually.
But this doesnt stop the disconnect at the end of the demo...

Sounds like a problem with the EA account servers again, not with the game. They had this issue some time ago when they first put up the message boards.



I noticed that recently I was getting random log-out messages in game while I was playing DA:OA. Same with Mass Effect 2 from time to time. I think their servers are just getting hammered by all the authentication requests.



Could be worse I playe through all of Drag Age: Journeys, but after 3 days of trying I could not get my computer logged in so i could claim my DLC. Had to eventually download and manually install them.

At my second playthrough today it worked!

For PC version imo one of 2 reasons seems to be the problem:

1. buggy cutscenes that log you out ( = spam ESC all the time)

2. deactivate your Firewall (my Win7 Firewall in the Control Panel was deactivated by me for the 2nd playthrough)

I didn't have a problem with disconnecting once I disabled the auto login.
