Damn, figured i'd skip all the story and just get the unlock, but joy of joys the servers hate me, tried without auto log without feedback with no firewall etc and nothing. This is great.

To to conclude most peoples findings, it seams disabling the 'auto login' in the settings, then manually logging in will solve the issue. I'll test it out at the weekend :)

Well i can clarify that from my end (ensuring firewall was allowing both launcher and demo exe's) that even after disabling the auto login and then manually logging in - and finishing the demo 3 times, i still haven't unlocked Razor. I would hope they realize there's a problem and end up awarding it to all demo players or something.

something that worked for me if you wish to try it, was doing all of the above and then when actually starting the demo i.e. when you start in the exaggerated portion, press escape go into the options account-> and restore defaults and try that, it might have been a coincidence but I did that earlier and I just played through and unlocked it first time afterwards, after having run through the demo god knows how many times previously.

can you get the razor if you downloaded the demo from file planet (it didn't work from the website).

It should work just the same no matter the source of the Demo install, as the unlock is dependent on finishing while loged into the Dragon Age server, so you should be just fine*

*Provided you dont have any of the loging out issues some players have had

I've had the same experience; played through multiple times. First time I manually logged in; when I replay the game says I'm logged in but I'm logged out at the end. And there's no warning whatsoever. So I haven't gotten any of the goodies at all. :(

PS3 here.

played through the demo a silly number of times by this point trying to get the razor, it simply will not allow it and I keep getting to the main screen and seeing I am logged out.

Getting a bit pissy at this point tbh, I just want to get Hayder's Razor so I can relax and take my time with the demo next time. I've been rushing through it and the CS's trying to do it in time.

Oh and there is never any kind of an indication/warning that I have been logged out during play.

I only played through once but halfway through some tiny text in the bottom left of the screen told me I'd been disconnected from the server, no explanation.

I still haven't acquired the bonus sword item. Each time I've finished playing and I end up back at the main menu, it says that I'm logged in still, but I still don't see any sign of the sword in my registered game promotions on here. (Once you're disconnected, you have to manually reconnect, right?)

I've had the 2 choices checked and unchecked in the configurations menu screen under the online section. I've enabled and disabled the automatic log-in and did manual log-in (apparently stayed logged in either way). I've also tried the demo for the PS3 once, but there's no sign of gaining the bonus item either.

By the way, I'm pretty sure I've played 5 times on PC (Male mage, Male warrior, Female mage, Female warrior, Female rogue) and once on PS3 (Female rogue) and now it's kind of getting annoying replaying the demo again and again hoping to get this item and not knowing why I have yet to acquire it. (I've also been hitting the Esc button a lot skipping cut scenes).

It's as if EA is just ignoring any new changes/updates to my profile (fortunately, I have the staff and belt from the other promos). Guess I'll have to try again later...

Got it! I made sure that I was logged into the Bioware social network before I started the demo.

Same issue here, the demo is logging me out at the end. I've played through the demo several times and all options are checked properly.

Hello to all my fellow gamers

Regarding the problematic behavior on finishing the demo and then realizing you were logged out and don't get the Hayder's Razor I just want to report my experiences and solution as well.

I actually tried to get the promotional item about 7 times without success using all different software related suggestions in the forum regarding settings in Windows (firewall etc.) and the demo itself (connection settings inside the options).

I finally found the solution in the hardware by using a more stable internet connection. I connected my PC directly to my wireless router via network cable an voilá it worked on the first playthrough. I guess the problem is that the connetcion to the servers inside the demo can't cope with the slight glitches a wireless connection usually always has (and does not even report this by saying connection lost).

Even though I am not saying that it is impossible to stay stable connected wireless for a whole demo playthrough I guess it is more a thing of luck than actual settings inside your computer or game console.

So unless this problem is fixed inside the demo I strongly suggest to all who are still trying to get the item and have the possibility to go online by skipping any wireless connections to try this out. Although my experience is limited to the PC version I suggest the same approach to all console gamers who are experiencing the same "logged out" problem.

Best of luck to all of you and keep up the good fight.

Thanks for recommending drastic measures! I plugged my PS3 directly into my cable modem and it worked... that is some terrible network coding EA / Bioware... just brutal! It must have a crazy low latency threshold....

Anyway thanks for the suggestion worked for me.:wizard:

I am now playing through the demo for the 3rd time since I downloaded it on my PS3 and still no Hayder's Razor. What gives EA/ Bioware ?
I shouldnt have to play through this many times, hopefully I get it this time.

If someone on the Development Team could post a response or someone point me in the right direction to find out what I am doing wrong that would be great.

I have the ps3 on a wired connection and have not noticed any loss of connection, to the EA servers. So, I have no clue to what is going on. I also played it on the XBOX 360 and still have not received the dagger. Bioware needs to just give it to everyone for free, when the game comes out since there are so many issues with it, well atleast I hope they do.
