Heya just finished the Demo and omne thing i noticed seemed to that the audio volume even when you crank everything up are rather low. need to crank up my speakers pretty close to the hiss levels (so high you hear the constant hiss of the speakers)

audio outside the game seems ok though

anyone else had this or is it just me?

All voices sound muffled and have huge reverb on my system.

Do you have surround sound or are you using stereo speakers/headphones?

Putting the question out there to get a feel for peoples' experiences. I am using a Soundblaster X-Fi XtremeGamer edition and 5.1 surround sound speakers using 6 channel direct. The sound levels are a little quieter than other games, but I don't have to turn them up too much. The voices and everything else sound fine.

I definitely noticed the wacky audio levels as well. In combat and such I had to turn it way up, which would be mind-numbingly loud in other games. But the ending video and perhaps one of the earlier ones the audio was normal, so I had to adjust volume as I was playing through.

edit: Using 2.1 speakers.

I noticed it. This was something I noticed while watching the HD demo videos too. It seems the recorded cutscenes audio are high, but the in-game audio was pretty low.

For me the sound issue was something I noticed especially in the 'Varric' portions of the game. The sounds was low when I started the demo, so I turned it up a fair bit. The actual gameplay then sounded good. But when I came to the 'pre-made/non interactable' cutscenes (like Varric talking about how Hawke got to Kirkwall after Flemeth) the volume was turned way up, so much so that I had to cover my ears while listening. Not a big deal, but kind of strange that the volume would change so much.

It may be because the in-game cutscenes or dialogue areas are zoomed into the characters, in which case I think they were too anxious in applying distance to sound levels. I played about half-zoomed out, for another data point.

I had to switch to 'stereo' audio in order to hear the voices. Might do the trick for you as well

same problem here!!

Sound level seems too low.

The game is supposed to follow the configuration of windows, concerning the speakers and sound settings, but it sounds pretty low on my 2.1

Same here. am using headphones. Gameplay audio was too muffled. Had increased it. When the cutscenes came, it was way tooo high. Removed the headphones and I could still hear it.

Same problem. Audio levels for the entire demo were way too low; it was especially noticeable in the cutscenes.
