My first Hawke will be an archer! I really love the *new* rogue.

Varric+Sebastian+Archer-Hawke = KABOOM! :D

i think its about time archery got the boost it deserves, afterall, the medieval world that most fantasy games are based on, was dominated by archery.

If you get shot with an arrow, your going to stagger/fall over/ die.

I will be playing a female archer for sure!

I've always loved archers, and despite all their shortcomings in DA:O one of my most enjoyable playthroughs was with an archer rogue. I'm really pleased to see they've been given some love and made more viable for this outing. I was torn between going warrior and the rogue for the first run but the archery talents tipped the scale for me. :)

It looks like any Warrior build is designed to be able to take hits and survive compared to being all out damage like Rogue and Mage. Especially as a lot of the damage mitigation and agro control abilities are not tied to the weapon type you have, so you could easily build a 2-hander tank.

Still, prefering Rogue over Warrior for the first time ever, Archery + Sabotage = Awesome.

God, I feel like I gotta play another Archer Rogue now.

I've beaten the demo 5 times. Don't make me do a 6th so soon after the 5th.

Not now. Wait for the credits to end.

Loving it, only because it's overpowered like crazy. Horrible reason...

Something being overpowered is no reason to feel bad about loving it.

Achery felt powerful in the demo, which was a pleasant surprise. The whole rogue class was in fact quite satisfying this time around, at least in my opinion.

It's too strong. No wonder people like it. Easy solution would be to make the archer AoE attacks not stack OR make explosive arrow trigger a small cooldown on hail of arrows and vice versa

It reminds how Archery was in awakening, in a good way... the small staggers really improves it...

Didn't even notice the quiver thing, I do wonder though... in close combat with archery does hawke attack with the bow AND arrow or is he/she just bytch slapping the foes?

It's a huge improvement over what was in DAO.

It's as overpowered as the mage.

Quite a bit more.

Dex raises crit chance, Magic raises resistance... Rogue wins DPS-wise.
Every shot staggers and AA is overall greater than the Mage's.
Abilities seem to deal more damage.

I played a Rogue first time. When I got the choice to switch to archer, Hawke said: "I ain't no sissy."

Pfft, Hawke is a sissy if he/she DOESN'T pick up archery.

I do! Using a bow is badass now, especially when they run into you at melee range and you whip out the kill-knife and start slicing them lol.

I wish we got epic slow motion death animations like the mage and warrior got though.

Dude, the Archer as a Rogue is awesome! Now I'm going to have a tough decision on what I play first.

Yes, but there was no such thing as magic back then.

There is now, but that's irrelevant.

I was a big archer fan in Origins and I've been liking what i've been hearing in the lead up to release. Playing the demo has only confirmed how much it has improved, loved what I've seen so far! It's a shame to see the quiver go, as although I knew arrows themselves had gone I presumed the quiver would equip with the bow and arrow. Minor issue though.

That said my first Hawke will probably be a warrior, as I have yet to play a sword and board warrior in Origins and want something completely knew for DA2. Playthrough #2 will be all about the archer rogue though. :>

archery is so strong that Varric is a constant maintainer of aggro, none of my tanks could get the enemies off him teehee.

The Archer Tank was a viable character in DAO.  It looks like he might be in DA2, as well.

Rogues seem to have enough mobility that they can sorta "tank" an ogre--hit backstab at the right time to avoid attacks, hit evade, or just do the old-fashioned turn and run trick.  The way you jump back into combat makes playing like that a lot more fun.  I guess that's off-topic from archery, though.

I've been experimenting using Evade to get closer to enemies in a pinch.  I'm not sure how practical it is, but with a little micro it's certainly doable.  Time will tell, I suppose.  I'm really enjoying the dual wielding Rogue.  I'll try the archer soon, though.
