Anyone else loving Archery in DA2 demo?

I like using evade to get some space and then resume shooting arrows.
Even better if my tank is in the area to gain aggro.

Agreed, the archer is much better now than DAO. It was really slow in DAo that you felt let you warent doing any thing . I just like the fact that the archer pull put a dagger (yes i show it being used) when fighting up close, no more trying to shot a guy when he is up close.
If I can be an archer in a game, I usually am, and I really liked the DAO archer. It was my first and favorite play-through. I got the Heavy Hitter achievement with my archer, and she was the character that defeated the archdemon the quickest, so I definitely felt like I was contributing. I'll admit it took a bit of leveling up before it felt that way, though. I haven't played the demo, but I've read a lot of posts with people saying they feel it's overpowered. Because of the new skills? I need to go find that thread with the skill trees in it again...

And how the rogue class in general compliments the archer: from the close range knifing, evade, and all the cool stealth tricks is amazing.
I have a feeling a fully powered Archer is going to make Legolas look like a wimp. And that's from someone who thinks Legolas is a badass.
I do agree with some, who are more concerned with difficulty and balance, being an archer is overpowered. I have a feeling Hard and Nightmare will negate the archer's power though. But that has never been a problem for me in a game, as long as it's fun.
And please Bioware, I hope you didn't forget quivers! Unless Hawke is just that cool or something, lol.

It packs a punch.
A comparison, I played the 2h warrior and I literally hacked away with the "basic" attack on the raiders in kirkwall and it took forever, I hardly made a dent in their health.
Then playing Archer and just using basic attack and they went down real fast, just a couple of arrows, 3-4.
I will probably max out the Archer tree, but I think I still want to sink a point or two in the DW tree.
to gain back-stab.
It makes for a little change of pace and a good finisher if an enemy comes close.
Then again the excellent back-flip is great for dropping aggro and getting back to arrow distance.
I wonder does the dagger do the same amount of damage as the "basic" arrow attack or is it weaker?
About doing both DW and Archer in same play-through.
I guess it might be somewhat possible if one forgoes to put too much points in the other tree's.
I would love to have the cake and eat it too, so to speak, both DW and Archer anytime I want.

thanks to one poster mentioning the lack of quiver it now begins to bug me >_>...
Could be that in the main game they are present though... I hope so (I do get the lack of it though, as it could incite alot of clipping or floating if you want some special rogue armors...)
About that mysterious dagger, I ain't seeing one he just seems to slap the foes... would be sort of interestinf if he were to use an arrow in his hand to stab with....
Arrows would snap. Daggers would hold their own.
Considering you would aim at the neck with an arrow it wouldn't be such a problem, plus if someone gets up close and you are already holding your arrow...
But still I want to see them do something with something, and not just slap them..

Stabbing them with a dagger up close is good enough for me.

No, I hate it. They turned archers into mages with absurd abilities.
Tell us how you really feel.

They said they improved it and it really is nice; very powerful, versatile....archery and bomb specialist looks like a very good option,possibly....anyone liking archery as well?
Absolutely, it was my favourite class in the demo, the most fun, and I also found it the easiest as well. I never play as archers in games, but I will for this one.

from the demo archery looked great , alot of fun . Pnning shot sums up how much better it is from DAO . I'm unsure though once the archery tree is full how much use the other trees will be , hopefully just as good.

Archery was very nice. I'm not sure how helpful the skills will be, though. The hail of arrows seemed very underpowered.
hail of arrows seemed amazing to me , best skill in the whole demo . When there were 2 archers using it on a group it was very very powerful.
