The ONLY problem I have with archery:<br />
Where is the arrow quiver when you have a bow equipped? Where is Hawke getting his arrows from?
Suspend belief, there's no string either
edit
Will say however that I am no fan of stringless bows that don't even flex (mind you that plank of wood in the demo would require superman to bend... tell myself, must suspend belief)

As for bowstrings, while it'd be NICE to see them, I believe the devs look at them as a little insignificant detail that most folks won't pay attention to.

Well, I played another playthrough a couple of hours ago with an Archer Rogue.
Didn't take any damage whatsoever against the second Ogre.
Aveline was tanking and maintaining aggro, as I unleashed my AOE attacks around her enveloping the Ogre and the darkspawn, while using my single target talents against the Ogre from behind(to do more damage).
When the darkspawn decided to hunt me down, I evaded, and they ran right back to Aveline.
Ogre went down real easy, and then we mopped up the remaining darkspawn no problem.
Even Bethany was fine. Overall the fight was the easiest Archer vs. Ogre fight I've played.

Oh, wait.
Anyway, it's very cool. I noticed that if you want to use dual-wielder rogue you have to accept that jumping in the middle of the enermies isn't nice. You have to take them one by one and, if you have a good timing, you can do it very easily combining all the abilities.
Archery is amazing, you can just use Evade to make te aggro go bye-bye and Miasma Bomb (Flask?) to stun your enemies. Crippling Shot is very useful, 1-K.O hitting all the normal Hurlocks in the start of the game. It's very easy to use after you get how the abilites work, too.
Rogue it's a very fun class to play. I think I'd go archery first and dual-wielder later (after I have my Mage, of course, Ice power ~), but then again, I think all the weapon styles were great.
Except sword&board, it sucked.

If anything, the moment your archer starts meleeing, you need to evade and get to a better spot on the battlefield.
But its still cool to see every once and a while.
As for stunning enemies, I haven't done it with an archer.
As far as Archery is concerned, I've just put points into the AOE and single target attacks, with Evade as a nice backup to get me out of harm's way.
I swear I'm gonna get everything in the Archery tree because the whole tree looks amazing.
Then I'll just have to figure out what the hell I'm going to do with the rest of the spendable points.

The archer shouldn't rely on the stab attack if someone is so close.

It's very useful, if not very cool, to use this 'combo':
Enemy gets close to the archer. Use Miasma Bomb (Flask?). Use Evade. Use Crippling Shot.
Do it with the right timing and it's a very fun scene to watch, and you get distance from your target while doing damage.

I just prefer using Evade and then Crippling Shot to see someone explode. Miasma would make it easier as they wouldn't move, but I don't find it necessary.
Still though, in the main game, I'll most likely take Miasma.

I played the game so many times, I can already see in my mind what use when to use. Like in the Chantry, when the warriors burst through the door, they will take their times to... roar or something. Probably using Taunt. Rain of Arrows (I hate to start remembering the proper names) can take care of them easily.
What I like more about archers is the adaptability. One enemy, two, three or four +, they have abilities to take then all, one by one or at the same time. It's very handy.

I believe Pinning Shot is the only single target talent for Archery. Everything else is AoE, even the final skill, which I think archers will REALLY enjoy.

...thanks to that, I then decided to give Rogue a try, and fell in love with the playstyle of dual wielding... until I tried my hand at archery...
I'm not entirely sure how to describe it, but it feels like such an improvement over DA:O/A. It's like there's some actualy power behind the bow. I can't wait for the release!

Archers on the other hand offer me something different than warriors and something I can actually rock with.
