Obviously we don't know the specifics of what happened yet, but, really? How is it that a massive attack on a planet with 11.4 billion people only results in 9 million dead by the end of the week? All you would have to do is bomb a major population center and you've got at least 10 million right there, and these are Reapers, not exactly push overs.

Now it could be argued that he was only referring to London, but the way it was phrased seemed to imply the total casualties.

2 million in the city/country, that's what i thought straight away. It's seems about right, I guess the population of Britain by then will be about 80 million. But yeah, I get what you mean.

225,000,000 spread over the top 25 cities of Earth.

The 9 million is just the "local" figure.

Logical reasoning says that they want smoothie ingredients more than heaps of bodies.

It takes a long time for Reapers to Reap, It took at least 500 years to kill off the last super race.

I know it takes a while, but even conventional warfare can take out a city, and it was made very clear that multiple Reapers were landing in London alone. I would have given the city a day before being completely leveled.

Reapers are over rated. They reality has never lived up to the hype.

I remember the ad for ME1. Shepard, Garrus and Ashley are looking out the window at Novaria as a frantic plea for help is piped in over the intercom. "Normandy! Request assistance! Normandy!" There's a dramatic pause as Shepard hits a button and the computer says, "Request denied!" Garrus and Ashley console each other as a grim Shepard walks away.

It didn't happen like that in the game. Nor does Grunt get swallowed by a thrasher maw and use a shotgun to blow his way out as was depicted in the ME2 commercial. I won't be surprised if events depicted in the commercial bear little resemblance to what actually happens in the game.

In short, don't believe the hype. Still, it was a cool trailer, though.

If video games followed reality, they wouldn,t be video games but life simulators, and not in the fun way either (sims). If the Reapers were truly taken into real context, there wouldn't be a war, you'd get "critical mission failure" after pressing "New Game". Even as they are, they're still terrifying. Did you see the VGA trailer? That's the stuff of nightmares.

Maybe the reapers like to take it slow and enjoy themselves instead of nuking a planet from orbit.

I mean the reality as in our first hand encounters with them as Shepard.

Sovereign dumass who leaves invulnerable body for one that just "died" and promply causes his own death.
Harbinger dumass who flits from one body to the next only to get shot in the head yet again.
Derilict single Cain to the core and oops it's dead.
T-800 only trying not to laugh spoils your aim.

VGA trailer is no worse than an all out war in our own reality would be,probably a good deal less destructive if London is still in that shape after a week. Reapers really not impressive as yet.

This, a foot soldier would be more worried and concerned with his own area of operations than the total conflict. For instance in WW2 European and Pacific based Troops didn't really pay much attention to the others area's of operations, even amony the various military units and nations. US Army  Troops in Europe I doubt knew (or cared) about Russian losses on the Eastern front, or in the RAF's Bomber command so long as they were winning. For all we know he may only be counting military dead.

He's a sniper not a walking communications center/membero f the general staff. The less central you are the less of the total picture you get or will be given, so that if your captured, well nothing of much value can be learned.

Why London? Why not New Mexico or Moscow, cities where there are more people than there is in whole of Sweden or Denmark? I mean, London is alright big, but they have the world to choose from! I mean, Hong Kong for Christ's sake! Many, many people. Or are they afraid to get their nuts kicked in? Figuratively, of course. I don't we think we could reach that high.

I'm pretty sure it's a homage (ripoff) of a scene from "War of the Worlds". There is a very similiar Scene where the Martian pods are walking across London.

The Reapers are not coming to wipe the galaxy clean of humanity. Humanity is being harvested and pretty much everyone else gets destroyed. It makes sense that the casualties would be in the low millions with resistance and military action. It would be inane on the Reapers part to wipe out a majority of Earth's population if they need us to simulate reproduction. Entire colonies were being abducted for the Human Reaper and it was only partially complteted.

This and if they are attacking various points there may be several cities under attack in fact the 2 million dead might be 200  dead million globally.

Ah, yes, the Reapers. We have dismissed that claim.  It's a nuclear error, but I have no fear..... I live by the river....

Like others have said, other places on earth are getting hit just as if not more hard. Including the cliche invasion of manhattan, los angeles, and tokyo...

Of course, the heavily populated poor cities are something to consider, like Mexico City. An army of indoctrinated mexicans invading *lol's at the thought*

As previously mentioned, those figures are for London alone. And remember, the Reapers don't want to kill the humans; they're essential for making Reaper babies.

Congratulations! Uncle Fred has been transformed into giant robot cuttlefish semen!

I think the Reapers are beyond the idea of using Humans to create yet another Terminator style tin can.

My guess it's gonna be like the previous invasion: LAST MAN STANDING

There is no pleasing the people in these forums is there? If they had chosen any of those cities then you would still complain on why they chose it. WHO CARES! It's they're choice! What's wrong with London? Nothing. My God that is the most childish post I have ever seen. It's like complaining on why the sky is blue. Why isn't it pink you say? Because so! That's really just it. JUST BEACUSE.

I think reenforcing your fleet with 11 billion humans seems like a better option than killing them all.

Just sayin.
