 Hi

While the game seems to support Eyefinity i have encountered the following issues:
  • The spell bar does not show in DX9 or DX11. As soon as you down the res to the normal screen size it shows up again.
  • The videos play squashed verticaly in Dx11 mode.
I hope that this is not an issue with the full game. I have really enjoyed playing DA:O on my eyefinity setup.

Thanks

Laiin

It would be such a downgrade if this is the case. Another WSGF lobbying effort, perhaps? Have to wait and see if this is fixed in the final game, though.

I'm also using Eyefinity (5760x1080). The game looks beautiful.

I can see the quickbar, but I can't put anything in it. So I can't use any abilities at all. Which makes the demo totally unplayable. If this is in the full version, I'm going to want a refund. No game released in 2011 should have issues with multi-monitor gaming. Eyefinity has been around for years now.

I get the squished video too. This I can deal with, I find it interesting to see when they switch from cut-scenes generated by the game engine and pre-rendered stuff.

You can see the numbers for the quick bar even in Eyefinity? I can see the bar area but the quick bar itself is not there when using three monitors.

Dragon Age was a showcase game for Eyefinity when it was launched i would hope the sequal would continue to showcase this. As you said the game looks awesome but you can only auto attack your way through the game.

No, I don't see the numbers. I only see the bar area.

I don't see why they don't just add a multi monitor setting that simply tells the UI to render only on the middle screen (in my case it would be between 1920 and 3840). Most Eyefinity users are pretty savvy, so even if they can't do the math themselves, they could give us an option to enter the dimensions of where we want the UI rendered.

This is what happens when PC gamers get a console port... It's obvious that the game is geared towards console setups and not PCs. It's gone from being an Traditional PC RPG (in the vain of BG, NWN, NWN2, DA:O, etc) to being a console action-RPG.The minimalist interface is because consoles lack input options of a PC, so even though we have far more advanced technology than any console on the market now (and probably for the foreseeable future) we get the short end of the stick. They have to go with the lowest common denominator. I feel sad that a company like Bioware, which made it's name making PC games, has bowed to popular pressure and forsaken their heritage. The only thing I like about the UI right now is that I can press R to take all.

Eyefinity setup here too with 5760x1080. I'm running into the quickbar issue as well. The game isn't unplayable but it'd be nice to be able to use cool abilities and get a feel for how the classes play. Other than that everything is running fine, just need those quickbars fixed so we can see the numbers and put abilities there.

I've also tried everything to get the eyefinity working properly. It looks great across three monitors (5760x1080), but I cant use any of the abilities. DA:O was B+ using eyefinity - I ran into the issue of disappearing trees which made it unplayable. Now in saying all of this I love the new game! I have to admit that I couldn't get into the first one. I couldn't get over the fact the main character didn't speak. I hated going through all the text during conversations. All that has been rectified, and the game looks great on PC AND on xbox (haven't tried PS3 yet, but I'm sure its fine, which is a huge plus). If they can fix up this eyefinity problem then I'll definitly get it on PC, if not then I might get it on xbox...maybe both :P Bioware I know a lot of people are saying this isn't a proper RPG blah blah blah and thats probably true, but in my opinion you've made the game more enjoyable and accessible. I skipped the first one (after numerous attempts of trying to get into it) but this is a definite buy for me. Please fix the eyefinity issues though! Oh and make mass effect 3 have eyefinity support too! cheers.

Boo, hiss. Glad I didn't preorder, will wait until multi-monitor is fixed before considering this again. Bad day, both this and Bulletstorm getting crossed off my to-buy list :(

I also have the quickbar issue however it does not seem to be limited to eyefinity setups, even though i have one at 3240x1920. In order to use the quickbar i had to change the resolution from 16:10 to 16:9 at 1800x800, then i was able to use it. Great job bioware... hopefuly the inventory doesn't cause the game to crash in DA 2?

We are aware of both issues reported by the original poster. They have both been fixed for the retail version of the game, which works great with Eyefinity.

You realise there are not quickbars in the console version right? so It's kind of silly to blame something like the position of a quickbar on the console version.

While this is great to hear, does it mean the UI will be resizable or restricted to the center screen so we can actually see them while playing?

Having the mini-map, party portraits, quick health, etc at the far extremes of the screen aren't thing's I'd consider as "works great with Eyefinity".  To me that's "deals with Eyefinity, but doesn't do it in any intelligent manner."

Yes, I'm was talking about the whole game, not just the quickbar.

QFT

This is exactly what we need an official response on (from the nice Hellenic dev who already posted); if my HUD/UI was centered properly or if there were at least an official "yes we properly support multi-monitor gaming " I probably would have pre-ordered yesterday despite my many dislikes about the demo.

To me it's not Eyefinity,nvSurroundVision or multi-monitor "certified" unless the UI/HUD elements can be restricted to the "middle" screen or better yet, user configured.

Yes... I have to agree with the issue of the UI/Minimap/Character Portraits etc. not being centered. More and more of us now use three monitors to play. I realize we are still a small niche, but it *is* growing. PLEASE give us the ability to drag the HUD elements around... or just restrict them to the center screen. I ended up playing 90 hours of DA:O on one monitor because I couldn't stand looking to the edges constantly.

So, regarding the Demo its self. Is there going to be a patch of some kind? I'd like to have the quick bar issue fixed so I can fully play the Demo.

Thank goodness I found this thread, I'm going to bump it just to say thanks. I was uber-confused about the no skill-bar issue.

The eyefinity support works great except for some issues with the HUD, The minimap is in the far right corner, and the health/stamina bars are way in the left, making it uncomfortable to look at. Also, the skillbar is right in the middle of one of the bezels. I run it at the bezel compensated resolution of 6136x1080, and buttons 4, 5, and 6 are invisible. It would be nice to be able to move the HUD elements around, or at least fix the skillbar.

Also, not a game breaking bug, but the XP bars in the character menu extend far past the gauge.

EDIT: This is meant for the retail version, not the demo. I found this thread by google, and didn't see the category.

I do not see a section for nondemo technical support though. So I'll say here I'm with everyone else here. I run nvidia surround vision triple monitor setup. All I really want is to have the hud in the center. Be it a setting for to limit the hud to 1920x1080 even if the res is higher, or by allowing the elements to be moved by the user. At this point I'd be willing to manually set the ini file if you tell me how. :-)
