During any dialog in the game it hitches up before switching to the other person who is supposed to talk or when i select something for Hawke to say. Does anyone else have this happen?

yep
sometimes it takes 3 seconds of a still image before the little cutscene of what the character says starts to play.

alright at least Im not alone in this. After the stall everything runs smoothly again right? thats my case. Now we just need a fix, I don't think I could play the demo again until that issue is solved.

This happens to me as well and it made the conversations annoying to watch since there was a few second lag every time another character speaks.
I hope this is something that can be solved.

Just out of curiosity, do any of you have the swap file disabled? If this is the case you should enable it because Windows and programs in general cannot operate properly without a swap file. My guess is the hitching is caused by slow transfer of data in and out of memory due to thrashing on your hard drive.

Where would I find this swap file?

AKA Virtual Memory, if you don't know what I'm talking about it is probably still enabled, as it is by default on any Windows installation. To find it, right-click Computer in the Start menu, click Properties, click Advanced system settings, click Settings under the Performance heading and click the Advanced tab. You should see something that says "Total paging file for all drives" or something similar.

Thanks and yes I do have it enabled. I'm not going to worry too much about this unless the hanging is still present with the actual game release.

Man tech support is one fire right now, has nobody figured out how to solve this problem?

Ok well, in case anyone is still reading this I have found something that helps. By Default the game has V-sync on, shutting that off helps the hitching a bit but is by no means a fix. I only figured this out because I always have it off and thought enabling it would make it better however it only made it worse.

v-sync (or any other settings solution) is not the remedy in this case, it helped to avoid crashes, but those minilags are persistent

Well, in the demo feedback thread, they do say it's an issue that have been fixed after the demo build was finished (and well, I have this issue as well).
