It's easier if you make your mage healing based, as opposed to a fireball spammer.

I took out all the hurlocks first, then handling him alone wasn't much of an issue.

It does amaze me that many of us can play this without issuing any orders or using any pots, while others die.



I suppose only Bioware really knows what the average gamer level is, and that's why Normal is as easy as it is.



If you're in a pickle, at the bare minimum, set Aveline on the Ogre as you take care of all the "adds".

On my mage... a lot of running and potion use when it had cooled down - think I got through five potions on that fight between characters lol. Heal was useless as it's cooldown is just stupid now. Though my son said it was much much easier as a tank warrior.

That's depending on the class ..

Regardless, try to defeat the hurlocks first. Use aveline to hold against Ogre.

You can effectively kite now. If you're a mage, keep running and shooting.

See, that's the thing. I set Aveline as the tank, go into the tactics menu, and burn down the adds. But then more come back, I get her to tank 'em. And she just drops like a fly after a minute or two of combat.

Same way i handled the first Ogre in Origins i kited it while using Pommel Smash to stun it every time it was off cooldown.

Aveline can solo that thing. No kidding.

I hit him, then when he kinda prepare his move, I make party spread around.... then hit again...

always that way, it takes time but works!

Ridicule me all you want, this is my first time playing Dragon Age, no need to be a dick.

 Take care of the darkspawn first, then focus on the ogre. When I played as the mage, everyone went down except her. So, I just had her fight and defend, it took a few minutes but thanks to healing potions, they didn't stand a chance. 

Definitely don't forget about your healing potions. Oh, and don't forget to level up as often as you can, you can even do it mid combat. ;:PP

If I can defeat it, then it shouldn't be too difficult to manage, especially since I'm not very good at games like this!

I don't recommend you to make her taunt. she will be down as soon as she gets surrounded hurlocks. Use your surviving sibling to back up aveline and to attack hurlocks.

It really kind of isn't, considering the longer cooldown on Heal.

A Hawke Mage with Fireball and Pyro is sufficient. Bethany with those two skills and Winter's Grasp is even better. AoE all the darkspawn that show up, have Aveline (or Hawke) stand there and Taunt when new waves show up, with an occasional Stonewall, and have Hawke (or Aveline) play cleanup.
