I wonder why only men have these complaints. Or would it have crossed the gender line when Varric would have been a love interest?

Totally agree with you guys, the girls in Dragon Age 2 does not really look that good, except Bethany, who sadly is just the sister and not romancable. Either way, hope there are some other goodies elsewhere in the game.

I'm skipping it entirely. Isabela is too loose, and I don't like elves. And yes, looks always come into play in real life and in games. To say otherwise is to ignore reality. Nothing shallow about it.

It's just another level of metagaming. Personally, I don't bother with them outside of whatever I get by simply playing, but Achievment hounds are no different than those who had to go beat the Weapons in the Final Fantasy games, or any of a million other things that had no real bearing on the story/game outside of just being something for a player to achieve for achievment's sake.

I may have already mocked the OP and others for being shallow but.... women may not be threatening  to not romance anyone. But the squeeing over Fenris was pretty much appearence based.

Um... you saw that Broodmother, right?  I don't care what her personality is like, I'm not going near that.  An extreme example, yes, but ultimately looks play a part in attraction.

To be fair, at times it feels like there are more gay men in that thread than straight women. Not that straight women can't objectify a video game character (oh they can). Just saying.
