I thought i put that in the frist post my bad. What does not make sense. Having the differnet charactor in the online have the same stats as the charactor in the game would just take some of the save data and coding.

Your sentence did not make sense. The game is a story.....how would the "Hawke but not Hawke" fit into the story?

I am not talking about the single player campign i am talking about online Macthes like in Cod. Co-op would be fun but the way people are reacting to it i just let the subject go mostly I have been talking about online macthes.

So, you mean like duels? I'd still prefer my single player games to remain single player games, but I wouldn't really care about that. Wouldn't it be hard to keep balanced though?

It would be except it would be a divert from the main menue you pick that and be able to chosse duel or mabey there would be a survival mode. somthing allong those lines yes.

Good points, still some of the reactions to the word Multiplayer in this thread just seem a bit...well like a Templar who just met his first Maleficarum.

Good comparsion that is why i moved away from that topic.

I know that you can't use Dragon Age mods on the consoles; one of my friends that mods DA, ladydesire, has often lamented the fact that console players won't ever get to try out her mods, and I'm sure she's not the only modder that feels that way. What I was trying to point out is that compared to the amount of content created for online use, there is a whole lot more that is designed for single player use; since Bioware seems uninterested in creating online content for the DA games, there is very little chance that DA3 (since DA2 has gone gold) will have any sort of online gameplay mode.

Mabey but unless they create a way to let mods get on the consule i get more bang for my buck buying a multiplayer.
Just saying that the draw of the consule is not having to deal with requriments and the great online. Why not make it just for the consules and not the PC.

Sure, it could be done. It's a whole bunch of work making something that I'd find completely worthless, but it could work.So the question is whether they'd have to divert resources from something I like to make this happen

Would it bring in enough players to mean that it pays for itself? I don't think so. If Bioware thought so, wouldn't they have done it already?

This is a discussion. Mabey not i mean they would have to look at games like Cod and ACB. then find away to mush it with the fantsy magic and intrigue of DAO. They could already have people looking at it and trying to figure out how to make it work or they could not believe it has enough draw. Just point out there were serval expension packs to the first DOA with all the time it took to make just one. People do not think they have the reasource or time to work on this. I think that is a funny thought indeed.

Sure, it's a discussion. But so far you haven't given me any reason to think that this would do anything except take developer time aways from stuff I think is good and give that time to stuff I think is worthless.

I hate multiplayer games. Dragon Age must remain single player. Period. Play WoW if you want a multiplayer RPG.

I wouldn't mind having multiplayer, as it would only be an option and those who don't want it can choose instead to play alone. But it'd be difficult what with all the "pause and play" tactics. So.. if Bioware can incorporate an efficient system for multiplayer, I'd be happy

If they can *properly* implement a co-op mode in DA3 where 2 players can play through the campaign together, then yes, it would be excellent.

Otherwise, no. DA really doesn't need it and it would probably pull require too much additional development.

Dungeon Siege did co-op multiplayer pretty well. If another Dragon Age were ever to have multiplayer capabilities I would love to see something similar.

They could always create a co-op campaign exclusive to multiplayer too. If such were ever to happen.

Only chance of mp ever happening is an endless wave of enemies with no save, pause or cinematic dialogue == total and utter cr4p.

What i ment was with all the time they have to work on semimeaningless expansions to an orginally good game. That they not only have the time but the capablites to make an effective Co-op or Muilt team death macth or raiding a chastle this is all somthing that can be done in the amount of time it took to make epensions like seachering for morganor looking for an ancient drawven city. It could be used to make a multipalyer that would work.

It would not take much if any time away from the actual story which you all hold dear we just wouldn't have the 7 expansion that were eventually incredibly annoying and overpriced.

I'm a fanboy of bioware and ill admit that if you dont think dragon age if your not satisfied with it as it is than your a sad person. I play bioware for the Gripping story, Great character's and My character. I dont hate multi-player i actually love it but i know when it seems stupid to have it in a game. I play cod to get my mutli-player fix what dont you, be happy with dragon age or play other multi-player games

Would I like the ability to Co-Op the story with 1 or 2 close friends, yes. Do I want a Dragon Age II multiplayer, NO.

Not really, since while some Bioware developers were working on those "seemingly meaningless expansions", others were working on the next full game.

no no no no no freaking no. why, you ask.

its because as soon as you do that you would sacrifice portions of the single player awesomeness and also youd exclude those who dont have online gaming mode thus eliminating further sales. meaning you would have to downgrade more stuff and youd be left with the worst game ever.

If it had co-op, wouldn't the second person get bored of not having a Hawke themselves and not being involved in any decisions? They would basically be there to stand in for the AI.

and that right there is why Co-Op doesn't exist Rue. If it could properly be implemented I think that it would be awesome but, I'm not sure it can be with a story heavy game. Still, I would love to be able to play with a few close friends.

I wonder if by co-op some people mean "I want a mode online to make my character fight my friends characters"? Again, I second the DA (and ME) are single player experiences, co-op would be a bad choice. Why would someone want to jump in the game and play as one of my party members and watch while I do everything? Sounds boring to me.

Also. if they did make this multiplayer, like it has happened in so many other games, all the focus would be there and then the single player experience would be awful.

Plus not all of us like playing online or co-op

Its too late for DAII to include such a feature.

Yes.

(not all Multiplayer RPG's should be MMO's)

Why? NWN.

Main Campaign, probably not. Keep that Singleplayer.

Our own created Modules that can be hosted by us as MP modules? Yes.

Ok, no multiplayer coop mode for the main game, BUT, why not have a DLC featuring a campaign focused on cooperative gameplay? With this new battle system, fast paced and with so much action, a coop mode would be a good choice for a DLC. It would be very very very fun to play with friends, each one with your class, helping each other and beating those hordes of dark spawns.

I would like to see a DLC featuring some cooperative quests, it would be very fun, for sure.

Yes. They could have made MP rather than make the other DLCs.

Fortunately for me, they did not do that. The other DLCs have at least had a chance of being interesting to me, whereas multiplayer simply is not of any interest.

This is a discussion on wheather dragon age 2 should have Multipalyer or not. This includes but not limited to co-op and Multipalyer on line macthes/ missions.

Not possible the game already went gold.

Maybe you meant 3? OT might be a better area for this, maybe?
