Here is my problem:
60gb Fat PS3
Reinstalled many times, rebuilt hard drive, etc.
Whenever I try to bypass a safe or door (press X) the game stops responding immediately. Characters in my group still move around/talk and Shepherd still bobs and makes small movements. The music continues to play but the bypass game does not pop up and the console is completely unresponsive. I have to physically turn the console off.
This issue is repeatable, I have never been able to get into the bypass game. I am now stuck in a mission and can not continue without bypassing a door. I have tried going at the door diagonally, tweaking all settings, saving at the door and rebooting the save and nothing works. I cannot get into the bypass mini game whatsoever. I returned my first copy and got a new copy and still the same problems.
Has anyone been able to fix this problem?

I have a 80 GB PS3(MGS4 bundle) and I have this same problem too... I can't find a solution too but I test before without downloading the DLC and running only the game with the patch. I achieve a 4 hack minigames without problems when I run againt the 5th the game freeze. Also when I had the same problem where I need to hack a machine to pass the mission I retry so many times that delete my save games(even using the patch). So my suggestion is to wait until Bioware if it cares release a real patch to fix this probem:pinched:

New here fellas, but i have an issue I have never seen or read about yet...
When I go to start my game from the main menu after it checks for DLC, the main menu freezes up and I cant move the cursor to select resume or NG from the maneu screen at all. Nothing moves but the stuff that glows on the screen. I can hold down or access the XMB and quit out and check my friends list and all, but when I go to play the game nothing happens!

A couple of minutes ago, a friend test my Mass Effect 2 disc and plays the entire campaign without any issues. He was using a 120GB slim PS3....So you might think where is the problem

Im assuming its has something to do with the cloud saving feature being put it as the PSN service is down. Its doing this as the game tries to obtain DLC from my save files!

I read in other post that issue of freeze can be avoided if you swap the resolution to a lower one. Usually 480p. Can you please give it a try? Let me know

I backed my resolution down to 480p and it worked!!! I wonder what is causing this if it's a resolution problem. It sucks though that I have to play this game it such crappy quality, but at least I can play it now.

I think this happens cause HDMI tec is different...This will be very frustrating but before I hack a machine I will save and then exit and change resolution and after I hack I will return again to 720p. Please Bioware fix this:wizard:
