There's been several times instances where I KNOW my dual weilder isn't hitting the enemies and is just waving the daggers about, what's up with that? It just got me and Bethany killed again when I couldn't take down some very embarassing low healthed archers and I had to march Carver up the hill and smash them. The one time I went archery it happened too, sometimes instead of attacking the archer would just wave the bow around. Is this a glitch?

If they're just waving their weapons around, it means they're not in range of their target. Move closer, and you should find they'll be able to do their closing attack.
