Now, what about those of us who can't get either the dxwebsetup file or the basic dxsetup files to finish running? I'm finding all kinds of posts here and there from people who seem to be having at the very least similar problems if not identical, but so far, I haven't been able to get directx 9.0c to install from a variety of sources, which is making it impossible to run the demo on the machine I purchased yesterday to act as an upgrade for this game (and Battlefield 3 and Skyrim heh).
Anyone have any possible ways to get the missing files if the installers won't install them?
Missing d3dx9_43.dll is not in fact missing

If not within the bounds of the Social Forums themselves, what search results have you had expanding your queries across the overall Internet?

Many listed various options for installing directx directly - via either the dxwebsetup file or a dxsetup provided with games or directly from microsoft. I've seen some that say a clean install of Windows 7 helped, but that isn't feasible for me at the moment as the pc did not come with a Windows 7 install disc with which to do such a thing, hehe.
Some say they found problems with some stuff that came with their cards, but none of the programs they list are ones I've got.

Good thing I thought about looking here, I reinstalled the DEMO 4 times, each time getting the same error. Just followed the INST below, and will try to play again. Mahalo & ALOHA from sunny Hawaii!

Never mind thanks for the instuctions your a life saver:innocent:Pacifien wrote...
The demo is installed to your hard drive, which you can access by going to your Start menu and then choosing "computer" to bring up the file window. For simplicity's sake, I'll just assume your hard drive is the c: drive. From there, the demo is likely under a folder called "Program Files" or "Program Files (x86)." Then you will likely see a folder called "Dragon Age 2 Demo." In that folder is another folder called "redist." In that folder is another folder called "DirectX." In that folder is a program called "DXSETUP." Double click it.

I reinstalled direct x, and then the demo worked fine for me after getting this message, not sure if this has been suggested yet, but give it a try if you haven't. I have a working link to the install file, but not sure if I'm allowed to link it here, PM me if you want the link.

Hmm, I I've both downloaded the update and tried to run DXsetup from the file and am getting an "internal system error" from the DX setup.
So the demo doesn't work and the fix doesn't work. Something I'm finding deeply. DEEPLY amusing.

Thank you so much. The other threads fix wasn't working for me. Huge sword combat certainly has been upgraded from the last game.

Or try these steps to fix the problem:
d3dx9_43.dll
It is because you will be missing written documents.
Step 1. You may acquire d3dx9_43.dll listed here.
Step 2. Substance that submit for your system32 in addition to process directory. Additionally place it with your syswow
Step 3. Browse through in your System32(32Bit OS) or maybe SyWOW64(64Bit The gw990) Directory.
Note: The venue with System32 or perhaps SyWOW64 is
C:Windows\\System32 (If you work with 32Bit Windows 7)
C:\\Windows\\SysWOW64 (if you are using 64Bit House windows)
Step 4.Paste your d3dx9_43.dll in to that directory.
Step 5.Manage the action. It would deliver the results at this moment.

I'm getting a error similar to the one you all are reporting, but after trying all the suggested fixes I've seen on this forum I have yet to solve the problem.
The error I'm getting is this:
"C:\\Windows\\system32\\d3dx9_43.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support."
Anyone seen this before or know why its happening?
Edit: Just noticed this thread is for the DA2 Demo, I'm running the full version.

I'm still having trouble with the d3dx9_43.dll missing error and I wonder, if a quick file search enables me to detect this file then it isn't really missing, there's something else that as I can understand from this Microsoft post - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/188213 and this post, is that this is due to a problem with the path of my d3dx9_43.dll, if the path is incorrect, then Windows might pop up this error, is that the case here? If so, how can I solve this kind of problem?
