The lore in dragon age has pretty much proven Men are have been and are currently the strongest race, and that men are dominant over women. My sig is purely about the Dragon Age universe.

1. Male is not a race.
2. Please provide some examples to prove your claim, I'd love to see them.
3. That doesn't make it any less offensive.

1. Men is often interchanged with human as the name for the race. I mean humans are the strongest race in the Dragon Age universe.
2. Ferelden is a monarchy and the world itself are based on civilizations and time periods that hold men with more rights.
3. I'm not making any jab at women just using lore that Bioware has created and provided.

Im the opposite. I want Bethany but I want to play as a mage. They probably made this decision to balance the gameplay. With the upgrade mages got, the game would be way too easy with a party that includes Mage Hawke, Bethany and Anders. Likewise a party full of warriors would be gimped in comparison.

In another case if you're referring to my Male Hawke sig. I like Garrett Hawke *shrug* there's plenty of female hawke fan groups/sigs why can't I have one for Garrett?

Ferelden's a monarchy means that men are superior? Who was the real power behind the throne, Cailain or Anora? Let's be honest, Cailain was just a figure head. And who's arguably the most powerful person in Thedas? The head of the Chantry, the Revered Mother. There are just as many women of power in Thedas as men. Also, regardless of how you justify your rationale, if you say men are superior to women (which you do), you're making a jab at women.

And there's a difference between saying "male" and "man" if that's your intended context. I'm not getting into "mankind" not being considered politically correct -- someone else probably will.

Supposing you're looking at it as "mankind" is champion of races in DA, your signature still is inclined toward "male" being dominant, as in its emphasis on "guys" and "champion of sexes.

In any event, I'm not sure it's a sound argument anyway...

Anora, Cauthrien, Morrigan, Leliana, Flemeth, etc.

Wow, did I step into a time machine and go back to 1950s America or something? I see nothing BUT sexism in your sig, even if it is purely about the DA universe. I think Aveline, Isabella, Morrigan, Wynne etc pretty much prove that men aren't the only people who can take down hoards of enemies on the battlefield.

PS: I'm a guy, not a woman flaming you over being sexist towards females, but a GUY.

Yes a monarchy is set up so men have more rights than women. Anora may have been wiser than Cailan, but Cailan still had the power. The Chantry is ruled by woman because the chantry members are priestesses while men become Templars. Why do men become templars? Because they are physically stronger and are better suited for fighting demons and apostates. Not to mention the Chantry in the Tevinter Imperium is ruled by a man. I'm saying in the Dragon Age universe men are superior to women which is true, it's not a jab in any way.

But that's just simply incorrect, I believe Bioware has stated many times that men and women are equal in Ferelden. Anora did all the ruling, Cailan was just a figurehead because he was the son of Maric. There are also female templars.

If there are female templars I stand corrected I have never seen any so I assumed it was just a female warden character who could become one, but that was simply for gameplay reasons, kinda of like arguments with being a blood mage etc.

And no Anora did not do the ruling Cailan did. It specifically said she just influenced Cailan. If so Anora could've ruled when Cailan died, oh nope Loghain became the reagent.

There is so much masoganistic ignorance here that I don't know where to start...
Men do NOT have more rights in Thadas than women. A monarchy does not mean men are superior, it's a type of government with a single ruler. Sex has nothing to do with it, in fact, a monarchy can just as easily be matriarchal as it is patriarchal. Additionally, there are female templars. Meredith, a woman, is the Knight-Commander in DA2.
Also, the Tevinter Chantry is not nearly as powerful as the Orlais Chantry, because the Orlais Chantry is the one nearly the entirety of the rest of Thedas follows. There is nothing, and absolutely NOTHING, in any of the DA lore to suggest that women are in any way inferior to men.

If you are refering to 'man' as the entire human race, then why did you add 'Champion of Sexes'? Sure, the whole of  Thedas may be set in your standard fantasy setting, but Bioware made it very clear that there is no discrimination between sexes in Ferelden. Sure, the Qunari are different in that respect, but, then again, you made it clear that we are talking about the human race. Be a fan of manHawke, you have every right to. But cut out the bashing of women. It doesn't show you in a good light.

I have both that they are superior to other race and they are the dominant sex. You said there is no discrimination between sexes yet you have provided no proof. If Bioware said that they sure are going against it ingame.

The term man is used for an adult human male. However, man is sometimes used to refer to humanity as a whole.

Of course, but you're using "they" to refer to these separate understandings of "man." It's not necessarily very clear.

See it's not that people just don't want someone it's that they want the other person but still want to play a class of their choice. Bioware has already chosen too much for the player this is just getting rediculous.

Dragon Age 2 is about Hawke's life. In life, you don't always get to choose what happens to you and your family. Especially in regards to who lives and dies. Sorry, but at this point in time, that's just something that happens to the Champion that he can't control no matter how hard he tries.

Also, we know next to nothing about the personality of the characters and who they actually are. To offer that decision would be to let people make their choices purely off of superficial characteristics rather than who the characters actually are.
