Also at people bashing his sig and calling him sexist. If it said female instead of male, no one would say anything. Which is another point I agree on, when female Hawke had the stare down with the templar it just looked goofy.

He called Bethany a "bimbo" (a female-only term for stupid.) That's sexist in and of itself, made worse by the fact that there's little-to-no evidence of Bethany being stupid in the DA2 Demo. He then attacks her for "speaking her mind" - what is normally a positive trait. The natural inference is that he feels women should not speak their mind.

I'm sorry, but this is clear-cut sexism. The signature only makes it worse - even if the Dragon Age world is a patriarchal place (a questionable proposition), seizing on that as a part of your online identity suggests serious real-world issues with gender roles.

OP, you need to seriously reexamine your own attitudes to women. That kind of nonsense ain't going to fly in the business world, and may get you in serious trouble as you grow older.

So it's a gender specific insult it's exactly like calling men pigs. No evidence of being stupid? She's constantly questioning you and holding you up when being chased be darkspawn and they're just trying to survive for the moment. She's suppose to be following you instead of questioning you every 5 seconds. How is speaking her mind a positive trait? The leader in this case Hawke is just that the leader and will ask for the characters opinion if he wants it, like when you have the option to ask their opinion if they should trust Flemmeth or not. Otherwise random outbursts are definitely not a positive trait. It had nothing to do with that she was a woman speaking her mind it was that she was speaking her mind and holding everyone up when they're in danger where as Carver would listen and follow directions.

I would really like to be able to keep Bethany, with my mage. A heal spell and an aoe push backs are way better than anything carver is giving me.

Wow... Bethany is apparently a bimbo..

You do realize she's your sister and you're running from DEATH? You somewhat RELY on her abilities at the moment, young rogue.

Also, I don't know anyone's family who doesn't speak their mind at every point in time, despite situation.

Hawke is the leader?, the last time I looked, you were a family on the run for your lives, who exactly put Hawke in charge?

1. The oldest
2. The mother tells them to listen to him/her
3. Hawke does the majority of the talking with people
4. They ask Hawke what to do ("Shall I show them my blade/fire" or what ever Carver and Bethany say)

It's not a "should I do this" but "what's your opinion", it's battle chat, not "I look up to you at all points" chat.

Granted, it is said that there is some reverance but that's for their abilities not who they are.

It's not an opinion at all it's delibrately asking "Should I take them out or should you?" leaving you with the final say.

do you think bioware made "your" sister hot just for the player to feel guilty when se dies?

maybe they made her that way to make you play with other classes, or they just want to tease the player

After playing the demo, that was really the only thing I found disappointing. I prefer Bethany, but also had the most fun playing a mage. Unfortunate ;(

I guess I'll save my mage playthrough for after the rogue and warrior.

That's about how I feel man. Mages are just dang cool now, but I can't let my lil sis die. (My little sister is my only sibling IRL)

My 2nd playthrough is going to suck in that respect. (my mage)

Got to say between the two I like Bethany more, and would prefer her to live no matter what class I play as.

Now that I think about it, I believe I read somewhere that you can make a decision to save both of your siblings early on in the game. Knowing Bioware, they just made it so you lose one to see how many feathers will get ruffled.

This would be absolutely awesome seweing as i liuked both of the siblings you start out with it seemed to make a very lifelike bickering conversation where you just blame each other for everything.
