Honestly the fighting was awful. Half, no check that, 90% of the time I did not know what my character or anyone else was doing. Just the same slash/slash sound and blood flying everywhere. It was not fun, bottom line. If I ever play this game at all it will be for the story, if that turns out to be any good.
The animation, honestly? Really? My eyes are old but wouldn't it be nice to actually see what your character is doing instead of the flash/slash/blood ... next. Sadly since this is built into the game I doubt it's something that a patch or mod can fix. Yeah I paused, yeah I tried to give detailed direction to my character ... what a waste of time that was.
Well for those of you that wanted this, congrads. If there are more of you than those that liked DA:O then BioWare made the right choice for the budget. Doesn't mean I have to like it.

And I've gotten more attached to LHawke's default appearance.

The 2handed warrior was quite surprisingly fun. I liked the rogue, but it was noticbly squishier than the warrior (to be expected though). I am going to go try the mage now, it is usually my least favorite class.Excision wrote...
I mean class wise. I originally was planning on playing a 2 handed warrior, but after playing the demo several times over I am pretty convinced I'm going to play rogue on my first playthrough (possibly even archer)
I never got past level 5 with the rogue in DAO so this was quite a suprise to me.
Anyone else?

Was thinking "Warrior all the way". But the demo definitely made me rethink that. Not that warriors are bad (they're awesome) but that the mage class is a lot cooler than I thought it would be.
The Ogre killed my entire party and it was just MageHawke left. Ran around in circles shooting him down. Took a couple minutes but was pretty funny. Couldn't touch me.

Oh, cry more, you big baby. You don't know me, or anyone else who thought the demo owned faces. I loved DA:O, absolutely, positively adored it. The combat was awesome and I had a lot of fun with it. Played through four full times. And I would swear on the Holy Bible that this game's combat is a million times more fun. I can like -- LOVE -- DA:O and think that this plays exactly like DA:O, only more stylishly and responsively.
Don't let the door hit your bum, I guess.

I don't like the rogue's new jumpy jumpy combat. I feel like Starkiller from Force Unleashed. I keep half expecting to jump off a cliff, fall 500 feet and land perfectly on a galloping horse.
The graphics are sweet, the new abilities upgrade screen will take some getting use to and I can see myself neglecting entire brackets.
Anyway it looks like BioWare did what they are going to be known for, have a great game and then do a sequel that barely resembles it!
I'm going to still get it, but man it's going to be something to get use to that's for true.
Anyway I'm thinking I may be a Mage. I'm always a rogue but if the Rogue and Warrior always jump around like idoits I'm going to go with a different character.
My brain/eyes can't deal with the camera angles and jumps without getting epilepsy.

Can't really be angry at someone for stating their opinion. You love it, he doesn't.
I'm not angry that he started his opinion, I'm angry at the implication that everyone who loves DA2 is the ENEMY of DA:O and those who hate DA2 are somehow respecting and protecting and championning DA:O's virture from the big bad chuckleheads who abuse it so.
That's when it's not stating his opinion, that's when he's taking a dump on mine. I'm perfectly capable of loving DA:O with all my heart, while thinking that DA2 took an amazing thing and made it more amazing.

we did but with her back story she comes back again and again no matter how much you kill her.DominantDjDark wrote...
Well, i'm not sure about anyone else but, I personally love it, the combat is great, now you can play mages, archers, warriors all with speed and efficiency...the new combat attacks etc are way better than DA:O...atleast, I prefer 'em more so...I hope, and don't doubt it that the rest of the game will be just as good, if not...better!...and PS: Didn't we kill Flemeth In DA:O?...lol. Kate Mulgrow (flemeth): Star trek voyager to Dragon age 2...she's awesome.

I am in the middle of playing through (the third time) on the mage class myself. I usually do not play mages but it is really extremely fun. I have a very hard choice to make when the game is released!IEatWhatIPoo wrote...

Then again, I like Bethany over Carver so maybe ill do Warrior or Rogue Hawke to start out. Who knows.

Graphics are crap (using either dxes), gameplay is crap and the whole new setup/interface sucks beyond belief.
Thanks bioware for this demo that convinced me NOT to buy DAO2 and just play DAO for the 55th time!!!

Noted. Sorry about that. Two me the two games are like comparing apples and oranges, but then some people do like both...
