I recently got a new computer, and so I had to uninstall the BG games I had. I was a bit annoyed, 'cause they were rather heavily modded. ^.^ But still. I went and reinstalled them the other day, and when I went to find their patch, I discovered it was gone....Now, I wouldn't be as annoyed with this usually, but I had intended to use the Tutu. So not having the patch kind of puts a wall up, there...
Anyone know what happened to them?

Although, if anyone knows _why_ it was removed, I am rather curious...

The old page is getting put down, slowly, painfully, like a cancer patient only living through the help of machines that one family member doesn't want to let go yet, while everybody else is disgusted by the unfunny caricature of a beloved friend's face, in which they can no longer see any laughter or joy, but only pain and the will to die, but there is this one little grand-daughter who maintains that the life of her grand-father is too valuable to just be "turned off", and she cries all the time, and nobody knows how to deal with her, so the whole family is in disarray and finally the father loses his job as the stress gets the better of him.

OK so BG2 is the grandfather yes, a ten year old member of a species with an average lifespan of about four years? Who the hell is the daughter? Wait, we're the daughter! OK, I'm getting into this. So who's the father? Bioware? EA? Yeesh, this metaphor only gets you so far.

I guess I got carried away there at some point...
Anyway, I don't think Bioware is going to put up the patches for download on their new site. They were never very big on patching, and now that they belong to EA, the best you could hope for is a BG2 themed TShirt (and don't get your hopes up for that).

When I mentioned their absence I was told they put it on the list of things to re-add to the new pages at some point, but with major games being released, supporting the old BG series (which isn't an EA game) isn't high on their priorities, I think. Understandably, since it was always the publisher's job to support the games, not the developer.



They weren't removed so much as just not put back in when they moved around the old site to the new pages.
