The snarky comments really didn't seem that snarky.

Also, locking out character customization and inventories? Really Bioware? Look, I already know you've pretty much jewed us on races for this time around, but at least give usa chance to mess around with appearances for gods sake.

And another thing, the dialogue wheel is completely unecessary, telling me the exact effect that my comment is going to have is not what I expect when coming from the great dialogue options from Dragon Age: Origins where it had a deeper line of dialogue options the farther down you went.

Look, the action elements and dialogue worked well for Mass Effect, but don't shove it in my CRPG's, it just doesn't work, the game didn't really have a lot of charm at all. A few of the characters made me smirk a bit, but I felt that the characters were a little empty for me. Fully voiced dialogue is cool, but again, back to the dialogue wheel, ruins the experience in the long run just to have an excuse to shove as much of Mass Effect 2 into Dragon Age as you can hoping to ride on your previous success.

P.S. Yes I will try the PC demo, regardless it will probably not change my mind.

I think they locked 'em because they didn't want to import certain features into demo thus decreasing it's overall size. Hair, eyes, noses, beards, skin tones. All takes up space which they thought they could do well enough without. As for inventory, I stumbled upon some items I picked up (Boots, belt, shield, etc) and each item has its own graphic of course so they cut down on that as well. This is just my opinion I have no idea whats the real story behind that.

Dialogue wheel seemed like a good idea but now its too obvious which option to pick to please certain parties. In Dragon Age you had to actually read into it to understand what you're about to say as well as how others might react to it. Here you can just be a good guy and use option on the above on the right without reading into it.

I would say...

9/10 on combat

9/10 on conversations

and

4/10 on stability. But that's because DX9 causes it to crash and DX11 has framerate issues.

3/10

I played it for about half an hour and then went straight to Amazon and canceled my Signature Edition preorder.

They basically butchered Dragon Age. It felt like I was playing Dynasty Warriors (an action console game series, for the unfamiliar), not a Dragon Age game. I really disliked the framed story, with the chantry/dwarf interaction.

I'm not sure why Bioware thought it was necessary to do what they did to Dragon Age. It felt like they were just making the same transition with DA-DA2 as they did with ME->ME2, except the DA franchise just doesn't carry it as well.

I'll just wait until the game is on sale on Steam, at this point. And to think I was planning on replaying DA just for DA2. Honestly, the demo was a huge disappointment and pretty much represented everything I was afraid DA2 would be.

11/10 for combat. Just, damn! I was practically jumping outta my seat on my first play through with a 2H warrior! I wish I could play my DAO warden in the new engine. Darkspawn would be flying all over the screen.

I can't really rate the graphics cause when I tried DX11 it was all bugged out, then I found out the demo doesn't support DX11...

My reservations about the dialogue wheel are pretty much gone. Hawke's VA is really solid and doesn't come off stiff like I was expecting *cough*Shepard*cough*. Overall I'm juiced as hell for the release!

PC player.

My score: 4.5/5

Pros
- Great voice acting
- Decent script (though, there wasn't much to go with given the demo's length)
- Love the stylish combat
- Rogues and Warriors are finally fun to play (even a rogue with archery)
- Skill system is better designed and I see the potential for many unique approaches to gameplay
- Great music (if not a bit quiet at times)
- Performs well (constant 60fps /w v-sync, 4x AA, and AO)

Cons
- Technical issues (constant loading)
- I wish I could pull my camera back a bit more. It can be difficult to accurately place AOE abilities
- Dialogue options are well delivered, but partitioned quite heavily (for example, when Hawke makes a snide remark and then immediately follows up with noble consolation, it can make him appear disjointed/inconsistent as a character)
- The first orge scene dragged on a bit. I was expecting another wave to come after he got below half health. Instead, I just sat there, pecking away at him for almost a minute. Only a minor issue.
- Felt short, even though it technically wasn't (I'm not sure this is a con as I -really- wanted to continue playing)
- Forced to play on normal difficulty. I understand why this was done, but I felt it was way too easy. At least, I know now to turn it up once I get the full version.

Well for me the demo is a 8/10 only cause of the small bugs/glitches i saw in the PS3 version.

Nah just kidding its a 20/10 I freaking cant wait for this game even more now.

I am afraid i will break the demo as much as i am going to play it the next couple weeks.

Well i may not be posting on the forums again for a while no one will care, i will still be reading the news and updates.

BIOWARE CONGRATZ ON ANOTHER GREAT GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On the PC:

I won't rate the full game based on this taste. Too much was missing.

The demo was 3.5/5. It was far more combat-focused than anything else, and I play RPGs for the RP. I do expect the full game to rank higher, perhaps even a solid 5. From what was shown in the demo, though, an as a primarily Rogue class player, I appreciated the combat changes. I greatly look forward to the full game.

4 out of 5, simply because the text is too small. Other than that, I loved it.

My biggest praise is that it actually gives the MC a voice in the dialog... if DA:O had that it would have been almost perfect and since DA2 has it, its already ahead of its predecessor

*I dislike the camera a lot.. not enough to cancel pre order, but still it is going to take some time to get use to.
*Not going to disown the VO yet(I'm a nonVO fan personally), going to give it a fair shot, but mHawke has sounded very dull throughout most of the demo. I know it is a small sample being a demo, but his performance in it didn't alleviate my concerns. Have yet to try fHawke.

Still not enough to make a final verdict, but out of what I was looking for in the demo I'll rate it at a 3.5/5.0

3.2 /5 (PC)

The negatives for me :

Npcs Have giant eyes
The new UI and Mini Map
The new darkspawn
Camera
The Mass effect Dialogue ( its Great in Mass Effect so leave it there )
No DAO Finishing Movies
"Kicks the Bomb"
Lack of Emotion when your Brother / Sister Dies
