Most companies don't outright say what bugs are and aren't going to be in the final version. But Bioware is a good company, I'm sure they handled what they could before gold and I'm sure they're dealing with having a patch on release day right now. I've yet to play a Bioware game even on release day that I'd consider buggy. Were there bugs? Yes. All minor tho and all fixed eventually. Except that Alister ignoring the mage ending >.> But if is buggy reviews will call them on it, they always do.

I don't know about that Fadeshear and Lion of Orlais Shield unlocked for all platforms thing, but I'd guess that it would work for everything.

Where you around for Dragon Age: Origins launch? PS3 users waited a year for a patch. They released Awakenings before the big PS3 patch which fixed most of the bugs.

I really have zero faith in Bioware fixing anything in a timely manner.

Yes, I played Origins release day on PS3. The only bug I noticed was that Duncan gives infinite experience. Which was fixed on release week. The only other bug I can even remember finding in Origins is that mage-Alister ending, which I'll admit Bioware screwed up on. But I beat the game in a couple days then started to replay it and encountered no serious game breaking bugs.

Edit: This is getting off track. I'm all for discussion and all that but in a thread like this we should probably stick to PS3 demo bugs.

Played the PS3 demo about 3 times with no crashes, just lucky? Anyway, most of you guys are right-on.

- Shimmering chainmaille and bandana.

- Any audio where there is an echo to the voice, which ironically is featured prominently in the demo, the echo gets cut off abruptly when someone else starts to talk and its very, VERY jarring. This is wayyy too obvious of a flaw, I would frankly be shocked if this shows up in the retail version, I have to believe its already fixed because there's no way this slipped the Q&A net.

- Load times are slightly ridiculous too.

Its still a day 1 buy for me, but please don't give the PS3 the short end of the stick again. On a system which boasts games like God of War 3, Uncharted 2 (both with zero loadtimes or texture pop-in) and the Killzone series, you guys are just making yourselves look bad with a sub-par port.

Came here to post about how my PS3 version froze before the character customization screen only to have it finally load after what was about 2 minutes.

Absolutely no loading whatsoever on the 360 version. :(

Yeah, what's up with that?  Played through the 360 version no problem but the PS3 version is giving us problems (I have both consoles).  I hope this doesn't turn into another buggy release for the PS3.

Downloaded demo for both PS3 and PC played thru both twice, didn't have any crashes, or freezing, went right past the customization screen(just went straight into the game), but did have the loading screens between all cut screens than back to combat on both versions (pc was set on high, max screen res. and 4xaa)

You missed the dex bug? Dexterity was completely broken.

Did you miss the endings bug? Did you miss the bugs with dialogue?

This isn't getting off track. You said Bioware has a history of fixing bugs and they clearly did not for consoles with DA:O.

That's why I was hoping Bioware would issue a response to the issues in this thread and if they are still in the retail version. If so, are they known issues planned for a patch or is it something that is just a system trait for the PS3. I would like to know so I could switch my preorder to the Xbox 360 if need be.

Hey guys,

I have looked through the thread and picked out the issues you are experiencing and filed bugs on them. Programmers are taking a look at them now. Unfortunately we will not be able to correct them in the demo but we are identifying as many issues as possible and correcting them in the main game.

Thanks Will. Please note:

Also has audio bugs. Although we suspect these were due to the way audio was edited in the demo.

Thanks for the info, Will. Normally the differences in visual quality between consoles is minimal and generally able to be ignored but the PS3 demo's graphics and load times are startlingly worse. Glad to know it can hopefully be corrected. Thanks again!

argh! i've restarted my ps3 at least 20 times because of the the DA2 demo crashing on me. i can't even finish the demo!

different roles, male/female....all crash on me. my ps3 is only 11 months old....

how are people who are experiencing this going to get their in-game item?

Have you tried uninstalling & downloading again? Also a good place to start if you're seeing something more severe than others are reporting.

I've played the ps3 demo to the end two times(mage and warrior) and had no crashes at all.

The only thing i really noticed was this:

Forth, blood would flicker unto and off my clothing.

Simply put if you have a choice DO NOT buy this on PS3.I have little confidence in Biowares ability to properly code for the system.Let's look at the evidence;DA:O had many bugs on launch and was previously said took nearly a year to fix,ME2 was broken on launch with freezing long loads and the most offensive save corruption and took a month for a patch to hit and apparently it not only doesn't fix the issues but makes the game even worse now adding audio problems, now the issues with the DA2 demo which I have too add the game freezing while leaving the radial menu that has happened to me twice.Even if these issues are present in the final build I wouldn't expect an exspeediated fix

I'm not hating on BioWare as a whole I'm hating on the PS3 design side.I love all their games but it's easy to see where their deficiencies are.I mean after all when one version always has graphic/sound/gameplay bugs that the other versions,PC/X360,don't that says something

As a BioWare fan who left PC gaming about a decade ago that now primarily games on PS3,after going through 6 360's,my consumer confidence is beginning to wane

I said that, yes. But just because I said something doesn't mean it isn't getting of track. I got carried away and talked about something unrelated to this thread. But, for the record, I did mention there were little bugs and the mage-Alister ending. I never noticed this dex thing, probably cause I played a mage and normally skiped out on having a rogue in the party. No matter how 'broken' then game may have been it doesn't change the fact that I played it and encountered no serious bugs other then that ending thing. So, using my experience Bioware is good at dealing with bugs, or at least good at hiding them all from me.

Back on topic, I've played the demo at least once a day and froze once. I was just charging at some darkspawn. Think I was a mage again, but I could have been a warrior >.>

Yeah - i've uninstalled and downloaded - three times now (yeah...i *really* want to play the demo). i'm starting to think i may need to format my ps3 again for it to work (that what i had to do for DA:O), but i don't want to do that, because i'll lose my DA:O saves.

what i found trough my 3 playtroughs
- awfull loading times on most things except for the skill menu[the skills accepeted instantly and i had no lag problems there]
- the first intro cutscene 1/3 times was a bit uhm well choppy? like it was cutting inbetween the changing of shots
- when i was playing the mage i would sometimes cast a spell but nothing would happen, she would just stand there for like 2 seconds and i had to press auto attack or the spell again for it to work.
this happened only on transition from the staff attack to spell so i assume its the animation

edit:
- the convo wheel would sometimes appear well before hawke said something, like at the start of the cutscene and the cutscene would play your response without stopping, not sure if thats a bug though

This only happened once on one of my playthroughs as a mage on PS3.

Aveline and Carver would not attack. They just stood there. The only way I got them to attack is if I switched over to them and made them attack a certain enemy. After they killed their target they went back to just not moving at all. This was during the quest with Isabela. Before that they were moving just fine.

The only glitch I noticed was when I was playing as a rogue during the "legendary" version of the story and my daggers were on my back, but my guy was attacking as if he had them in his hands.

My first time playing Dragon age series and i have experienced these major bugs:

- Potions does not stack automatically, also potion items dont drop for some reason when you're carrying  your potions on your invetory. What I've noticed i have to store my potions in my storage and then when you explore of fight mobs you see them drop.  But after getting 4 potions it will not stack any more and the potions stop dropping.

- Carver gets stuck when you cast Gravitc ring spell, he becomes completely imobilized. Experienced this bug when I have Carver on my Deep Roads party. Even when you switch to Carver he will not move at all.
