When i try to log onto my EA account i get an error saying

Dragonage2Demo.exe - Drive Not Ready

The Drive is not ready for use; its door may be open. Please check drive A: and make sure that a disk is inserted and the drive door is closed

 Cancel   Try Again     Continue

Selecting any of these takes you to the same next error box

DragonAge2Demo.exe - No Disk
There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk inot drive
\\Device\\harddisk1\\DR1

Cancel   Try Again   Continue

Again selecting any of these leads to the same new error , which is as above but the drive is now \\Device\\harddisk2\\DR2

Which leads to the same with 3 and then 4 then it loads back into dragon age and says connection lost you cannot log in at this time.

Anyone else with a similar issue?

Same issue.

Edit: Turned DirectX 9 on restarted and no error, not sure if related.

OK, it looks like an issue with DirectX 11. If I force it to Dx9, the problems goes away. Switch back to Dx11 and the problem comes back.

@SLADevil - Try setting it to DX11, launch, exit, set it to DX9, launch again.

I'll give this a shot when I get home tonight. I'm fairly certain mine was already set to DX9 but we'll see, I couldn't get into the EA server last night either because of this.

I just clicked "try again" and the prompt went away and all was well with the world...

There was a topic about this yesterday, the solution was to remove USB devices such as memory sticks apparently.

It's some weird bug that got fixed in the retail version.

Meh, I don't have any USB devices connected except keyboard and mouse, although I suppose I COULD remove those and try playing the demo. :o

It *IS* consistent for me about setting to Dx11 vs Dx9c.  Then again, there are ~12 other bugs in the demo...

I just hit Continue and its lets me play after that. This happened to me after I installed my new HD 6970 graphics card. I had a GTX285 that only supported DX10 so naturally I changed the game to use DX11 so I could see the difference and boom I got this error.

I dont have any USB memory devices in my machine either though my main hard drive is an Intel SSD drive.

I have this problem now with the retail version of the game i picked up last night at midnight. Same error exactly and I have it set to DX11. Just tested DX9 and the error went away. Also I have no memory cards nor any external drive plugged in and the DVD drive is empty.

So apparently it was not fixed in the retail version.

I was having this problem with the demo and ignored it since it was little more than a minor nuisance, though it's happening now that I have my retail box as well. It's not game breaking, but it is a little annoying.

Running Windows 7 64bit here, with Dragon Age installed on my E: drive. Curious if people having this problem have Win 7 or installed to a custom location as well.

Same as well, no fix for this yet? (other than some tweaks listed above)

I dont like not being able to run the game in DX11 since its supposed to be capable as well as I got Win7 for DX11. I am also Win 7 64bit. No custom installation or anything.

I found I can actually click through all those errors fast and it will actually sign in and let me play but the framerate is bad and the game crashed when i tried to play like that for 15 min. Back to DX9 and it works fine.

Same here.
I click continue 3 times, screen black with a white line on the top screen. Alt+TAB twice and I'm back at the game menu again.

Another issue: does toggling the pause before combat option at game option menu really works? It seems to me - the same thought with the demo - it doesn't.
