AFAIK, only the Sager brand's top-rated desktop replacement PC would allow that option the last few years, and those were not only quite expensive, they looked less "chic" and weren't popular because they were thick, large, and heavy enough to call them "luggable" rather than portable.

The one in this ad looks more "normal" than the one that I have in mind, however:

It appears that not even Sager could convince its suppliers to keep that one in the catalog (the older type with access to the graphics card's inside compartment).  It seems that there are now zero laptop models out there offering a graphic upgrade.

thanks gorath, so i guess i need a new desktop rather than a laptop to play DA 2 :P i guess i'll just sell it to my friend

The X800 was barely (from a shader point of view) accepted by DAO, since it stopped with the functions in SM-3"b", which were part of Dx9.0"b" and DA2 wants the full magilla. so a card from the X1n00 generation is required, such as the X1800, and newer, including the named minimum Radeon, although it's my feeling the "Pro" may be marginal, not really what I have in mind as a minimum card.  .
