I have the black face bug. I am running a GeForce 7800 GTX with 256MB. Everything else runs fine. The latest drivers are installed. Sorry but I cannot justify buying a new video card just to play a game. All the other games I have run perfectly fine.
I have other items I can spend that money on. Eventually in the future I will have to upgrade, but I will be buying a new desktop system not just a video card.
My laptop runs the game demo with no issues.
My desktop system may be a dinosaur. The dinosaur gets the job done.
I know my video card is a little below the minimum. The system requirements state that it supports the 7900 GS with 256MB. If you make that claim then you must support it. Therefore any bugs that affect that minimum requirement must be fixed.
The black face is not a deal breaker, but it is annoying.

Again, if you have an old graphics card, install old drivers. Nvidia still releases drivers for old graphics cards but they're optimized for the newer ones. Browse through the Nvidia archive to find something much older.

Also have the bug and i'm running a 7950GT(x?), pretty good card considering i've had three years or so, never let me down yet and i dont particually see the need to upgrade since this is the first bug i've encountered. I also prefer to buy games than upgrade the computer and since its mostly used to play a certain popular mmo its hardly used to a stressful workout .

Really annoying but after a while i guess you get used to it. I'll still be buying the game, just hope it gets fixed pretty quickly, since its an eyesore.

Oh, should also say i've upgraded my drivers since the demo, and was running ones from about 3months ago before now and it was showing on both sets.

I havent had this:

All i had was one crash (before installing the unlock mod) and even after that everytime i exit the picture of the character turns into a purple oblong for a second.

Unsure. I think it will be in final but hopefully will be fixed in patch 1.

There is no black face bug in the final release. Everything is working nicely so far. The game so far is good.

Confirmed, no blackened face bug for my game either, looks like they fixed it .

Same black face issue here, ATI HD 4890 card. has done the trick so far, but is giving me trouble here. Seems to me its a general bug. Not all faces are black though, and it doesnt happen strait away. Other then that I get invisible faces, sometimes. A reload normally fixes that.

I'm having this bug too. Purchased the new game and the second time I played it all the female faces turn to black silhouettes or just disappear entirely. I have a new computer and video card. It doesn't affect game play, but it is really eerie to watch NPCs have conversations with my invisible Hawke.
