Yeah, but I think it's the general trend of women and how they are being represented in video games that have some of the posters concerned. I know I've yet to see a smaller chested woman in a BioWare game. I see plenty of smaller chested women IRL.

I can understand the sentiment,  but,  I don't have a chest and I don't get up in arms over a lack of representation of small chested women in video game.  It would be nice, sure,  but games like everything else out there tend to use sex appeal to snare their audience.  Look at all the perfectly chisled male characters...  I haven't seen many complaints about that.

Also,  I find it funny that it's always female characters that are getting busted down.  First their too ugly,  or masculine,  or what have you... now their breasts are too big.  If people wanted to remain gentlemanly continually pointing out the perceived flaws of the feminine gender should dissappear entirely.    

This is definitly a case of making mountains out of soft balls.

I think this argument is a fallacy.  I mean there are absolutely women in the world that have chests as big as Isabela's seems to be.  However, look at the rest of her body, including her waist and the rest of her torso.  Especially with the outfit it looks like she had medieval plastic surgery to bring her chest to comical pornstar levels.  No one with a frame that looks like hers has a chest (or butt) that look like that.

I'm sorry if you find it unbelievable,  but,  there are certainly women out there with that build.  Are they rare?  Sure, but is it an impossibility?  It is not...  They're are good genes and some people are just blessed.

Wrong.  It may be a rare occurence but there certainly are women with similar physiques.  Her chest is far from comical pornstar level.  She has a great body and shows it off, as do the vast majority of real life women with great bodies.

Yeah, I pretty much disagree with most of this. I'm fairly dissapointed with their offering of female characters. Not that I think they are horrible. Just dissapointing. Except Lady Hawke. But she's not a character, really.

I would be perfectly fine if it was just Isabella that had large boobs. The fact that pretty much all females in-game have major boobage kinda irks me.... but whatev. It's a minor thing.

If it makes you feel better, Zevran was far more ****ty than Isabella.
However, with Zevran it was generally played for laughs and therefore it doesn't really bother anyone.

Actually I hated Zevran because he acted like a promiscuous jerk as well.  It just made me roll my eyes and wonder, even more than women, why the bisexual male character had to be a loose flirt.

Isabela is just one example of a problem.  To each their own I suppose...but to me she's un-look-at-able.  Her personality made things worse, sure, but the moment I saw her in the demo I was instantly done with her.

On a side note, I didn't have issue at all with Jack or Miranda in ME2 and both seemed to be perfectly willing to explore their sexual side (at least Miranda as revealed in her Shadow Broker dossier).  They just didn't do it in the stereotypical bar room trash way.

I recall people quirking eyebrows over Morrigan as well.

It could be, though, that people are seeing a pattern in BioWare's representation of women with the release of the second iteration of Dragon Age, and are moving from 'wanking' to questioning. Regardless, though, I've been thinking about what you wrote -- how women are continually scrutinized and objectified on on how they look, not who they are. You're right that BioWare's men are often as archetypal and yet seem to be less scrutinized. Your argument points to a larger, more gestalt problem of patriarchy that I'd not thought about before. It doesn't matter that we're advocating for smaller breasts so that the game can be more inclusive and set less of an unrealistic social standard/construction of women. Ultimately, we're still saying that a woman is largely defined by her looks -- small breasts or continent-sized ones.

Maybe my perspective is wrong, but I really don't think Morrigan's chest is as big as Isabela's.  I'm not going to lie, I liked Morrigan as a character and anyone voiced by Claudia Black gets big points with me, but I honestly don't feel like Morrigan's body looked nearly as absurd as Isabela's does.

here's a clue, since you all don't have one, rape was very common in that kind of time-period...even in OUR world.

so yes, with her looks..she would be a target...he did NOT say it was just with her looks..it was NOT meant that just because she looks like that that she wouldn't have been raped in OUR time.

learn context..and the time period and setting the game is based off of before you jump, idiotically, on the bandwagon.
