I liked her old lady look. It added to her mystique. Who would think that this innocent looking old woman would be a powerful entity from beyond the Fade.
The new one just gives her away at first sight.
You don't think that maybe... shapeshifting out of dragon form does that before you notice her new clothes and hair? It's not like she could be subtle in that case.
She looks amazing I think her new appearance suits someone of her power far better!
Plus she is kinda hot now

Anything can be artistically retconned because the entire story is told from the perspective of a dwarf relaying the information - any artistic elements you see that differ from Origins can be explained by saying that the dwarf has exaggerated his story.
This is what I'm thinking more or less. Those of us that played Origins know what a Hurlock really looks like, so the new ones are part of Varric's highly stylized retelling of the battles after Lothering. Also, unless he saw her later on in the story, Flemeth wasn't even there for Varric to see. He could be describing what he believes she looked like as opposed to how she really appeared. Unless DA3 comes around without a framed narrative and still shares the exact same artistic style and similar models, we can chock all of this up to the narrative style. It's just like how we can suspend our disbelief to the horribly wrong histortical inaccuracies in 300 because it is being told by an unreliable narrator.

10 bucks says near the end you play hawke in the present day and everything looks the same.
It would have to if you did. Can you imagine what a pain it would be to make all new models for things that already exist? They couldn't even make female turians in Mass Effect because of model restrictions, that would be ridiculous.

I get a feeling flemeth has some devious plans going on. I thnk this is her true form or atleast her true humanoid form. The one in DAO was just a ruse, she wanted the wardens and Morriganr to think she is an old frail woman.
And something is wrong with your eyes if you can't see the difference between Hawkes Hazel eyes(same color as mine
I have a feeling we will se much more of her in the game, or atleast in the future. I belive certane events involving her in DAO was her plan all along.

I like that they look like something out of a Brom painting. I think it better suits their fabled origins as cursed magi, as well as their normally subterranean existence.Baldurs Gate Fanboy wrote...
Flemeth is the witch of the wilds , shapeshifter , etc ... So the change in her model can have some kind of explanation ... But the Darkspawn , really , the new darkspawn
It's a shock, yeah, and after the first screenshots I thought, ‘Wait, why are the darkspawn zombies now?’ but I quickly came to like them.

I mean yeah she transformed into a dragon in the first game, but that's something I'm sure Morrigan can pull off with enough experience as a shapeshifter. Now it makes sense why Morrigan was so scared out of her pants as not to join your party during your quest to confront Flemeth in the original game.

Characters we saw in Origins will be different in DA2 because well it's set in different time periods and who the hell ever wears exactly the same clothes and looks exactly the same through everyday of their life?

I think they would have at least had her dress remotely similar to her daughter as opposed to... say, the tower robes she instead wore when you fought her. This new dress actually has at least one shared element with Morrigan. And similar makeup.
I never understood why they put Flemeth in standard mage robes during Morrigan's quest. They didn't do this for the Fade sequence with Morrigan and Flemeth, after all. I think the new attire makes more sense for Flemeth.

Erm she started out as a dragon blowing up darkspawn. I don't think transforming into an elf, a dwarf, an old woman or a cow would make her seem less powerful.
I repeat . DRAGON. GIANT FLAME BREATHING LIZARD WITH WINGS.

I can't remember the exact dialogue but I remember I had a nagging feeling all the time after 'killing' Flemeth that Morrigan was now possessed. Also, consider how many of you guys that have said she reminded you of Morrigan.
