When playing the demo, I noticed that, during the exaggerated section, Carver was outfitted in what appeared to be massive armor (I assume he acquires that armor later in the game), but poor Bethany was still stuck in her mail apron.

What gives, BioWare? Is it an older build where a cool costume wasn't implemented yet, or does Bethany get kicked off the runway early? I want my sister to look like as much an archmage as Carver does a badass armored dude.

Meh, it would probably take away from the magnificent cleavage that Varric had envisioned Bethany having.

She can show off her magnificent cleavage in an equally magnificent robe, though. Between Hawke, Carver, and her, she looks like she's still a refugee. I don't get why Carver and the PC get awesomesauce digs but she has to stay in her playclothes.

Clearly MaleHawke is insecure about having powerful women around.

I still don't get why if you play as a warrior, you get real armor, while Carver is wearing peasent robes. :P Especially since you were both warriors at Ostagor. Poor Carver. Estranged from a family of apostates, gets his first initial level last out of the three siblings, and doesn't even own a decent set of armor. No wonder he's got issues.

Carver's armour seemed ridiculously low-res to me. Moreso than the outfits usually are. It's not game-breaking or anything but I'm hoping that "extra high" option that can't be toggled in the demo spruces him up a bit more.

I'll bet that extra high will have higher-rez textures than medium. But high-rez textures are only fun when you have fancy awesome models to apply them to.

In other videos I've seen her in a Tevinter-like armor for that scene. It's possibly just an oversight for the demo.

She's your sister so her "prettiness" is kind of wasted anyway. She can be in the final game if you play warrior or rogue. If you play mage she dies.

With the amount of a horndog your character usually is in these RPGs, it'd be amusing if Bethany/Carver has a really annoying lover-wannabe who had a recurring role throughout the game. Just to give you a humorous outside look at what all the NPCs must think of you as you "romance" them. :P

So she can be a companion nice! I was just taking over as her character in the fights to get the feel for a mage. I'd love to have her around as my mage when i play as a rogue or my female plays.

oh and the cross bow was beastly powerfull

Poor mages. There weren't many good looking outfits for them in Dragon Age. Let's hope that they get as much attention as warriors this time with Dragon Age II.

I don't think a mage needs such magnificent armor as a warrior in this case, a magi's gloriousness is shown in their range of spells and not how shiny their robes are.

Did people expect all mages back in that era to be wearing extravagant outfits with purple flames and a crown?  I think it fits the feel and art style of the game.  Besides, did it bother anyone when Mass Effect 2's characters had one armor on for the entire game?  It didn't bother me.  If anything, it helped the player connect better with each character.  It made each character feel unique and memorable.  I don't want to walk into Miranda's chambers, realizing she's dawning an N7 suit.  That would be pretty retarded.  BioWare made the right call with this one.  I support it.

I just hope she changes her outfit at least once in ten years. I don't care how pretty she is, if she doesn't change her clothes, then that's just... bad.
