"Silences gives consent". I don't like aspects of the game, and you better believe that they are damn well going to hear about it.
I don't see how that is less useful than a bunch of boot-lickers constantly fawning over them and praising their every action.
Indeed, it's more productive (when given correctly).

Quite.  DA2 is a massive overhaul from the first game.   It's a hugely different game aimed squarely at a different audience.

We have the right to make our feelings known.

Bioware know they will lose many older fans, but are hoping enough console kids will get on board  to make the change in direction worth their while.

It's called trolling. They likely have little interest in discussing the game. They will write things simply to get a reaction and when they get somebody all angry at whatever they sare saying they'll reply with "u mad?" or something along those lines which gives them a little cheap thrill.

Sadly a new demo for a major game like this means the trolls smell blood and the all come out to cause some anarchy. If you think this is bad wait until the full game comes out then they'll be on here in the hundreds.

Or, people are genuinely interested in the franchise, and sad to see certain aspects they like changed/removed and would like to let the game developers know about it for when they start working on future installments.

The "everyone who doesn't like things about the game is a troll" mentality is very tired. Put it to bed.

Lol yeah i know they are trolls but my question is why?? What could they possibly get out of it, when someone replys to them do they masterbate over it or laugh to themselves? It seems a waste of everyones time including their own. Like i said i guess i have a more interesting life then them if they can waste hours on a forum complaining.

Yet, here you are, complaining about them.

Oh, the irony of your more "interesting" life.

People get passionate about things they like/don't like and voice their opinions. Not all of those opinions will coincide with yours. It's life. Get used to it, and get over it.

I honestly hope I'm misinterpreting this statement. I mean, Nicholas Boulton, feminine? Say what?

Yes, I wouldn't insult him personally as he is a half decent shakespearian actor...but his voice is rather meak and mild compared to a say a Gerard Butler.

His voice for my protaganist was weak and  distracting that is all.Surely we can have this discussion without it being implied he is a crappy actor which he isn't.

I had or have no intention to discuss his acting abilities. My comment was solely based on what appears to be you implying his voice is feminine. Perhaps it's because I have XX-chromosomes and no Y one, but I cannot for the life of me understand what's feminine about Boulton's voice.

Do understand this is not intended as a ridicule, I'm just genuinely surprised about this.

I dont see what we can complain about yet, the game was like 90% combat (That felt so much better then DA:o). I bet that the rpg feeling is gonna be there when I get the game, if not I can complain about it then.

After I played it!!!

It's the way people present their opinions in these forums that annoy me.

Example 1) It's good but.... *follows with a rant* BAD FEEDBACK

Example 2) I don't like it... *gives invalid reasons which makes no sense to the content they are talking about* BAD FEEDBACK

Example 3) ZOMG I LUV DIZ GAME... HORRIBLE FEEDBACK

Example 4) ZOMG DIZ GAME IS GAY... HORRIBLE FEEDBACK

Example 5) The opposite of  example 3.

I would like to see a good response to the demo, I liked it, but I also know it's only the demo. So when someone complains about the story through the parts they have played in a demo that showed hardly anything to avoid spoilers, it leads along the lines of trolling.

DO:O combat was horrible. Dull, slow, boring. This looks way more intresting. Cant say anything about the story as the game havent been realeased yet. This looks like a big improvment yust like Mass Effect 2 showed to be.

Sad thing about forums. People almost only come there to whine. Probably loads of people loving the demo but never go to the forums saying so.

Likewise the opposite.

People use the forum to laud or criticize. Its called feedback and believe it or not thats how forums go.

If all you had was positive comments and censured out all the bad, then how would Bioware improve ,include or leave out what their fanbase want/like/dislike.

If all you want is praise i recommend a cult forum.

Nothing less my friend nothing less. You will find that every single time it is the same and you can even make predictable parallels on what people will complain about whithout fail. I find it very humorous.

I'd be less inclined to be sarcastic about it if there if most of these threads will be actual discussion and not just a whine, but that's rarely the case this close to launch. The first month of launch this forum will also be a nightmare to browse with 50 topics on 50 different complaints each. Parrrrtay!

Then things will calm down and actual reasonable discourse can return. Yes I understand the different between blinded praise and criticism, criticism does not equal insulting the work people have done on the game, at least before we learned that sensationalism gave us attention it didn't.

Coupled with an almost feminine voiced Protaganist made the character very weak.Varrics Voice would have at least made the hero more plausible.

Fighting was a whole lot of sillyness.

Dragon Age 2 is so far removed from the original tactical rpg as to be not an rpg at all ..I was fully expecting Sonic to join in one of those attacks. On the subject of attacks a few simple strategic choices rendered any further interaction from you unwarranted. You could simply sit back , twiddle your thumbs and wait till for all the silly slashing and unrealistic prancing about to end .Then highlight another victim.

Overall the demo was a huge let down and can only assume it's intention was to present a hack n slash game to a 12 yr old audience.Though I think even they will quickly lose interest.

Quiet incredible considering how enthralling and well made Origins was.The worst game Bioware have ever presented to it's fans.I considered the Demo to be a chore rather than an experience. It was so weak and uninteresting.

I was hoping to see something telling me that the demo (hack and slash) was not how the whole game would be at release. This imho has very little in common with DAO that I know and love other then the name and the company that produced it.

Looking at the game as a whole and the now very ugly interface it appears they were making this for the console or rather more console friendly, and that would have been fine if they had not also revamped the game in the process.

I have never canceled a bioware pre order ..I hate the thought of even considering it, but I can't see anything being changed this late in the game even if they wanted to.

The character graphics are beautiful sadly thats not enough make me want to play the game at release.

Lol indeed. I just dearly wished they would had made the most epic mother of all talents in the game so I could at least get some darn good lols.

The talent would be called "god mode" and when activated the char tears his shirt apart, the ground begins to shake, an enormous "RAWR" is heard and everything in 50 yards area of the Hero would be pulverized while BIG NUMBERS, LIGHTNING, and EPIC HEADSHOT special effects would fille the screen.

The talent would have 30 secs cooldown.

I didn't , perhaps you should re-read my post.

It isn't my opinion books ARE more popular than audio for it's immersive qualities. You should know that the appeal for audiobooks is not choice rather necesity.

Ok I re-read your post. Saying that you find someone's position to be nonsense is discounting it.

What I am suggesting is that the popularity of books is necessarily a function of immersion. I primarily read non-fiction so immersion really isn't that important. I can read a historical work much faster than I can listen to the same information on tape. I also have greater control when reading a book. It is easier to reread, go back or do other things to improve comprehension.

Personally I find that movies, for example, can be more immersive in many ways that books can't. Movies for example can use music and sound effects to convey information and feeling that books cannot.

Again, immersion means different things to different people.

The demo was pretty bad. Certainly didn't make me want to buy the game.

-Combat was hack'n'slash, felt like a console action game where you just mush buttons and watch the pretty animations.

-Extremely linear level design, forced to move along a corridor and keep facing wave after wave after wave of the same 2-3 mobs that pose no threat or challenge.

-Clunky interface design. Way too futuristic for a medieval-type rpg, diamond shaped buttons not easily readable at a glance. Navigating through the specialization trees was a pain, diamond shape again didn't make it any easier.

-Same ridiculous hair from DA:O engine, looking more like plastic colored helmets. Facial hair still not properly attached to the face of the models, leaving gaps on the cheeks, making them look fake.

-Don't know if you can somehow move the camera to a more comfortable angle, but I couldn't find a way to do it.

-Constant pausing and loading messages every time someone was trying to talk. Didn't let me get immersed for more than a couple seconds.

-Badly written graphics engine that makes the game run poorly even at medium to low graphic settings with no AA on a 2-3 years old PC. Very low framerates for no apparent reason since graphics were not even close to being impressive at any point.

-Dialogs and storyline seemed solid as always however, which is the only incentive to maybe pick it off a bargain bin a year after release or something.

All in all, VERY disappointed at the demo. It's basically the Mass Effect 2 approach, which is an even worse idea for the DA universe. At least ME was a shooter, so the action gameplay can be justified.

And why in the name of god and all that is holy all corpses just vanish. Where they go? If it is such a slaughter, I at least want to see PILES of corpses. Now I see nothing. NOTHING. After and during the battle the coprses just vanish, leaving me with a feeling like I would had just finished masturbating and the fantasy girl in my mind just disappeared.

Can we please..PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD give up on this pointless crap about consol players.
I was a PC player, now im a consol player, does that suddenly mean i have regressed to the mentality of a 12 year old who is only interested in hack and slash?
To any PC player who holds a 'grudge' against consol players, let me help you here, the consol market OWNS the PC market, PCs are a marginal market at best, you probly represent 15% of the total gaming market if even that. Stop trying to blame everything you dont like on the MAJORITY of gamers who own consols.

No your post demonstrates that.

Aside from flames and trolls people have conducted themselves well and have enjoyed debating their views. Both sides so as OP I appreciate that.

I don't see any console bashing here myself. Most realise the audience of each platform is a generation thing, younger people (teens) are the majority of console, you cannot argue otherwise and it isn't an issue really.

I suppose this 'grudge' you speak of is largely a fallacy. As no doubts alot of people (as you point out) own both platforms.

It is quite legitimate and reasonable that fans want to criticize what audience Bioware are marketing their game towards.Wouldn't you agree ?

Nevertheless your statement is quite incorrect. You are speaking of genre and not of the whole. It is a fact that there are by far MORE PC gamers than all of console gamers.A little research would clear this up for you.

There are approx 500 million active PC gamers..all playing a diversity of games. There are not 500 million active console gamers my friend..or Bioware could retire tomorrow. These companies are after a slice of the market.Nobody would argue that teens tend to buy and trade in regularly ..it's rather obvious.
