Dragon Age 2 marketed as an RPG all previous game are RPG's demo comes out and its a hack an slash.  If your stupid enough to buy biowares ****** poor attempt of appealing to little boys like handheld - more fool you.

It's called trolling. They likely have little interest in discussing the game. They will write things simply to get a reaction and when they get somebody all angry at whatever they sare saying they'll reply with "u mad?" or something along those lines which gives them a little cheap thrill.

Sadly a new demo for a major game like this means the trolls smell blood and the all come out to cause some anarchy. If you think this is bad wait until the full game comes out then they'll be on here in the hundreds.

Nah, we saw how it worked with ME1 to ME2 and Origins.  Enough whining and Bioware will change.  "The inventory's too hard"  = inventory gone, "Origins is too difficult" = patch to a nerfed game, or "all the armors look the same" = dlc appearance packs for all!

Well given Miranda and Jack some clothing made me happyPosted Image but then ... leave Jacob alone please.Posted Image.  I agree with Moondog, except let them be a part of the 1 mil needed smile.   IMHOPosted Image

Right ok I'm the one trolling yes yes keep telling yourself that

You are calling people retards because they have a different oppinion than yourself and then call them 5yo. You, my friend, are the epitome of irony. Hence the image I posted fits you perfectly.

Your view is like this: "IM RIGHT YOUR WRONG LALALALALA".

How about you insert another coin in the post machine and learn to add arguments to your posts instead of insulting ? Maybe then you wont get flamed in return.

All your post have been directed as insults to me nothing relating to the OP.

I am voicing my opinion and you dont like it, that quote you made sums you up perfectly you made a typo at the start though  "Your" needs to be replaced with "my"

How are we looking through rose tinted glasses?  Origins came out less than 2 years ago.  Surely the fans didn't just make up that whole "spiritual successor" to Baldur's Gate...who could have thought of something like that?  Nor did they say DAII is tactically stronger and better game than Baldur's Gate.    Again, I'm not saying I want a game using DnD rules but why throw out so many things instead of improving them?  Obviously, there is still a market for an rpg with an old school feel.  DAO sold very, very well.  Why the need to Mass Effect'd the game?  Why can't Bioware make two distinct rpgs.  Instead, we're getting action games that are  guns and talking in a sci-fi setting and now swords and magic and talking in a fantasy setting.  The games aren't that similar.  If you think so, great.  I'd hardly call this a modern rpg since Bioware's been farming the same formula for a decade...and it's formula I've enjoyed up until now.  Maybe it's best I look to greener, prettier and more innovative pastures.

Care to back up the ME2 outsold DAO?

See, that's where I disagree. Just because it's faster paced, doesn't mean it requires less tactical play, it means it requires you to make decisions faster. I mean, its pretty much been said flat out, as I mentioned previously, by the Dev team that lower difficulties will let you play more like an action RPG, but higher difficulties require more pause and play, etc, etc. If that's what you like, play at a higher difficulty maybe? It doesn't seem that difficult of a decision, to me anyway ^_^

As far as tactical play went in DAO in the lower difficulties... thing is, I didn't even find it necessary on the lower difficulties at least. I could go through killing damn near everything w/ my mage while my party hung about and twiddled their thumbs. Problem was, a. the horrible evil shuffling of doom, and b. how slow the combat interface was to respond. To me at least, the combat feels a hell of a lot more real (well as real as you can get in a slightly over the top fantasy game;)) with the new, faster pace.

The frustration of the hardcore RPG fans comes from the fact that Bioware, probably the number one RPG developer, has chosen to turn the DA universe into hack'n'slash RPG-lite. Instead of dark fantasy, it is now comic book fantasy.

DA2 might be a mechanically good game. It might be aggressively marketed and sell a lot, but an RPG masterpiece it unfortunately is not. Everything I've seen, read and played confirms that it will be casual, forgettable, unimpressive fun with a lot of silly elements in it. Play and forget. Definitely a giant step back from Origins and no competition for Mass Effect and the Witcher as a serious RPG.

I'm very disappointed because I see the promise of the DA universe going down the drain. DA2 is fast food when I want a juicy steak.

*ninja-teleports out*

lol you said hack and slash and as such your arguments are invalid.

About the combat: SERIOUSLY. No you DID NOT have to employ any tactical thinking AT ALL to beat the demo; it was designed that way so if a new person was checking out the game they wouldn't die instantly. Who wants their ass handed to them in a demo right? Right. But if you did play around with the pausing and tactical commands, again totally optional for survivial, the party has a lot more options for working together and orders are followed much better now

Well I could usually tell what emotion any choice would express in origins easy enough.

Usually I could, too, but not always.  Sometimes people would respond in a way that didn't really make sense to me at first.  Anyway, the point was just that the mood or emotion is really the important part.

But again it wouldn't be so bad if they had more than 3 choices.

Oh but there are.
Like when you talk to Isabella, there are the 3 responses to progress the conversation, and then four more options to ask about various things.  Pretty much the same as in DAO, where the conversation tree would present some options that were responses that would move the conversation forward, and some that were just to convey information, and then it would re-display the options minus the one you just chose.  The only difference is that DAO put them all in 1 big list in no particular order.

Someone posts "I love this game" - no one moans

Someone posts "I hate this game" - OMG WTF STOP TROLLING AND START POSTING STUPID PICTURES.

I can fix this for you.

Someone posts "This demo has flaws, like it's annoying that you can't target specific enemies with a fireball anymore and the tears are missing and so is the first cutscene" - no one moans.

Someone posts "This game sucks because the writing is bad and the fighting was silly and it's not an RPG because it's not a carbon copy of DAO!" - *lol* Lameass Troll--who then replies with wails of, "Oh, so all you Bioware fanbois can't take it when someone pokes holes in your supposedly PERFECT game!" When, ironically, it's the "perfection" of DAO which its more fanatic supporters tout as causing the law that Bioware must never do anything new ever, just make lots of DAO expansions.

Like DAO better all you want, just don't expect us not to laugh if you can't state that opinion like a mature adult and must instead drastically exaggerate how good the first game is and how "terrible" the demo was or how it's "not an RPG" because it happens to be a little different from what you are used to or what you usually prefer.

To go along with this, keep in mind the demo's also on normal. I've only played the PC version far and it was easier than Origins was on the PC when playing normal. But there are higher difficulties etc. I'm assuming the game'll be harder later as well on normal.

Lol yeah i know they are trolls but my question is why?? What could they possibly get out of it, when someone replys to them do they masterbate over it or laugh to themselves? It seems a waste of everyones time including their own. Like i said i guess i have a more interesting life then them if they can waste hours on a forum complaining.

Remarkable.

Couldn't be the people who have major gripes or issues are fans of Bioware games could it.
