So I get this message when I hit play to start the demo. How do I disable Direct X 11 as instructed (in the config I have chosen use Direct X 9)?

Or will I need to replace this file similar to the same message for Direct X 9 that is stickied?

Try this:

Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age 2 Demo\\Settings\\DragonAge.ini

For the VideoOptions section replace everything other than ResolutionWidth and ResolutionHeight with this.
If all else fails, try running this too.

sepir, i had the same error, went to microsoft and reinstalled dx and it worked. I also have a graphic that doesn't support dx11.

that's the exact link that ben shared. also you might want to update your graphic card drivers if you haven't already.
